    Roy from Better General Appliance Service came to fix a ****** dishwasher at my tenant's apartment, which wouldn't start the cycle. He came out on May 19th and charged $107.35 to say the control panel needed to be replaced. He quoted $645 plus tax to replace it. He told us the part cost $500. I found out the part is available online for $279, which means he probably gets it for even less. When I challenged him on that, he said he "open business for my living". I told him it was an unreasonable markup. He said he had expenses to pay for, and initially agreed to install the part if I ordered it. Then he changed his mind and said he doesn't install other people's parts. Then he said his cost covers a 1 year warranty, and so I asked him if almost doubling the cost is supposed to cover the warranty, and he said yes. He offered to refund the inital diagnostic charge, and then changed his mind, and said he would only refund it if I could find somebody else to install a 3rd part part. A day later he texted my tenant, and said he doesn't do installation for parts supplied by customers. Then he said his minimum service estimate and labour charge is $295 plus parts cost and tax. Then he said he wouldn't install it for me anymore, but he would install it for her for $200, "no invoice no guarantee or warranty working or not working because his part not my part". **** ** *** **** ********* *** *** ********. Avoid him.
