I applied online for Carfax on a 1978 corvette on June 14 2024. Carfax requires a credit card charge before they will allow access to their database. So I complied.I put in the *** and received a return that Vin format was too outdated for system to search & was advised to contact. When I phoned the 1 800 number I was advised they are not taking calls & instructed to contact support online. I have left 3 online messages, it has been a week, I have already purchased the car, cannot do a search, I asked for my $73 reimbursed & have received no response. My phone number for contact Please help.

The report I received seemed to be accurate. I just purchased the car about a month ago and had an oil change and inspection on the car just a few days ago. I live in the U.S. and found out that it was originally from British Columbia, Canada. I was curious to know if there could be any missing reports or history that might not show up in a U.S. history, report so I decided to try out carfax.ca. I had four positive experiences with them.
I was delighted to see that my recent service from only a few days ago was on the report. In addition, the report I got from them matched the report I previously obtained. Also, there were no accidents reported.
The report was very comprehensive and easy to understand. I now know that the previous owners drove the car about 5000 miles per year.
They actually charged me less money than they said they were going to. The up-front cost of the report was $60 plus a $20 fee for access to ICBC insurance reports, but instead they charged $59.28 altogether. Getting charged less money that I expected was a pleasant surprise. Maybe it was because of the exchange rates, but either way, I think they are honest and up front about their prices and may even adjust the price to meet or exceed expectations.
I was able to print my report so that I have a physical copy and I can still access my reports online for another 180 days. I wish the printed reports could be a little more detailed, but they seem to be sufficient. I would recommend them. Might not find out anything interesting about the history of your vehicle, but I think what you're really paying for is peace of mind.
