    We paid a design and project management fee of $4737 in Nov 2021; Ana indicated a project start-date in Spring 2022. However, the level of service quickly deteriorated (see attached for details). She delivered the design months late (end of March 2022), and pushed the estimated start to August/September 2022. She took a deposit to secure millwork in Aug 2022 plus another $4387 fee. Still as of July 19th 2022, we had no complete quote and no responses to our repeated questions for any kind of timeline. There were repeated major gaps in Ana’s communication and follow-up requiring constant reminders. She could not answer basic questions about preliminary contractor quotes, and simply referred us to them. One of her contractors told us Ana directed him not to include a major component in his quote. It was only due to our growing concerns from her repeated errors that we identified this problem, otherwise, we would have understood that that quote covered the whole project. Please see attachment for details on Ana’s response, which was to blame us for meeting with her contractor. Her quote for window treatments (which were a priority in Nov 2021) arrived on July 2022 and cost 3X what we were able to quickly obtain for similar products. This is in conflict with the “savings” highlighted in her pitch and materials, claiming her close contact with trades and suppliers would result in significant savings.
    Based on the repeated problems we lost confidence in the ability of Ana Cole Interiors Ltd. to complete a satisfactory project and we indicated to her that we could not proceed any further with her services. She agreed there was no reasonable way forward. We requested the $500 deposit for the millwork and 50% of the $8775 + tax design and project management fee be refunded for unfulfilled project management Steps 8-13 of the agreement. Despite agreeing, via email, that proceeding with her was untenable, she refused to refund any portion of the fee for undelivered services.
