    I am writing this letter with a complaint against Absolute Creations. We feel that they gouged us in an unfinished job that was done. We had other quotes done with lesser costs. We thought
    that even a little higher cost. Absolute was capable of doing a good job. The total cost was $28,035.32. This was to do a complete cleanout of the bathroom. They took out the tub, tiles flooring, sink and all. When they laid the new floor, the floor wasn’t prepped right. There was no underlay in stalled at all. ***** charged us another $1140.00 to buy the fixtures. Then they charged us another $498.05 for some other fixtures. They did a real bad job of chalking the bottom of the tub. It leaked onto the floor causing stains. ***** blamed us for this saying we left the door open and not to use water for rinsing the glass doors but his man came the next day to use water for rinsing the glass doors but his man came the next day to rechalked the bottom of the tub, surprise no more leaks.

    The grout peeled away from the bottom of the tub, the down spout is extremely loose. We asked to have a 45 degree cut into an existing wall. Top was 1 ¾” and the bottom was 4 ½”. We were not happy. ***** said the ws no good. When we asked to fix it right, ***** said it would cost us another $1322.51 to repair it. I tried to negotiate this only to have him tell us that was final. He blamed us for the wall, Owners Fault

    It must be nice to be able to take the elderly for a ride. He didn’t give us a contract until we gave him the down payment that he needed.

    Thank You;

    Business Response

    Date: 12/06/2023

    In to replying to customer compliant of the bathroom work.

    Mr **** ******** and wife ***** signed a legal written cash price contract on Oct. 12 2022. I myself go over everything written out on our contracts that is pretty detailed out with the scope of work, there is also areas in the contract pertaining to added costs to homeowners that may arise when doing the work, or added items homeowners are responsible for paying for. This was all agreed upon with both of the homeowners which they signed the contract and was left a copy.

    The work took place later in November and myself and my trade worker ***** that did most of the work other then our plumber and electrician doing there part was done within a timely matter. Every day ***** communicated with the homeowners throughout the entire job. I myself also was present during the process to make sure things get done. The homeowner saw the work every day being done and there wasnt any issues of concerns at all. If there were things would have been worked out as they communicated with ***** and liked everything that was done. If there was problems the homeowner wouldnt have paid for the work especially when there was a work payment schedule written on their invoice contract being a certain amount throughout the job and balance on finishing.

    As for these issues that homeowner is complaining about, this corner that was originally located at front area of shower that was 90 degrees, ***** asked if it could be cut back a bit to make it look a little bigger. This was done and was discussed with homeowner that it wont look perfect as the home is plaster walls and nothing is completely straight but we will do the best we can. This other issue with shower wall spout being loose, this was also addressed with homeowner and was showed that it was tightened as strong as possible . The other issue with sub floor , this usually is done if needed. This wasnt written or mentioned on customers invoice contract. The other issue with water coming out of the shower staining the floor. Everything prior to this everything was calked in shower with also the  glass shower doors.

    With any construction projects there will always be some sort of service call that pops up after things settle and is used. I always look after any services that do arise that is brought to my attention from homeowners. As for services calls that arent related to our work no, but i will come to a reasonable compromise with homeowner to fix issues at a very reasonable cost.

    The homeowner called after a good few weeks after everything was completed and finalized saying that shower is leaking? there are puddles of water on the floor and staining to the floor.  So i had ***** go back out to check this over. His conclusion was that the shower base or drain and even the toilet wasnt leaking, which he told the homeowner and showed them. It wasnt until they told him that they take the shower head hand held unit off to wash down the glass doors. Well this was the problem as doing this will allow any water to leak out of any glass shower doors on the market. So ***** told them this and also recalked everything again. I myself went back out to see my clients to see this and tell them its not a result of us. I did come to a solution to fix the floor that everything would have to come out being toilet, vanity, old floor and all trims. I mentioned i would do this at a cost of materials to homeowner and look after labour. Also i brought to their attention that was written on invoice contract that there was only suppose to be 2 shower shelves, not 3 which is what we did without charging and also if there ceiling fan exhaust venting through the roof that was existing needed properly fixed there would be added cost to homeowner, this was actually fixed and wasnt charged to homeowner .

    Since ***** my worker told them not to wash down the glass doors like that there hasnt been any water coming out.

    I am hear to work with any of my clients to help fix issues and come to a reasonable solution but not for free if its not directly related to our fault.

    Sincerely

    ***** ******
