    ** ******* *** ************ ******** Got a quote for my brother's move (small 2 bdrm apt,no appliances) to his new home 395km away. I made the calls, he had a stroke, speech and mental function are limited. I outlined his belongings and got a quote. They later went to his apt to estimate in-person & doubled the quote saying they need 2 trucks & 4 men. My brother felt the need to sign the inflated estimate on the spot. The move is now going to cost $9,366.01. Just imagine the cost to move a whole house with appliances and a garage!
    Once his stuff was loaded, they tried to put a hold on his credit card of $10,000. He couldn't cover it, he was told he would not get his stuff back. I was contacted. I called the office and started questioning where the $10,000 was coming from, I was quickly transferred to their "big dog" who proceeded to threaten me and to dump his stuff in the London streets. I offered my card for the deposit - he wouldn't accept it because he didn't trust me. I threatened legal action & police, he insisted I sign a Authorization for Credit Card Use. I did, authorizing $5000 to 2 of my cards, total $10,000. What choice do I have? Everything he owns is being held hostage. Move day: we didn't have the keys early and off loaded to a driveway, no carrying into the house, I helped. The biggest issue was that the truck were 1/2 full - we only needed one. Checking my cards, they billed me $5000 on one & 2 separate transactions, $5000 and $652.83 on the other. The signed estimates total for 2 days was $9366 not $10652. AND they billed my card $652.83 over the limit I legally authorized.
    Called head office to discuss the current card charges with a manager, receptionist would pass on the message to the London office, and assured my they would be “able to explain away the charges”.
    Imagine If you have a whole average family house to move….. in the end you’ll need 6-8 trucks, 12-14 men and you’ll have to take out a second mortgage to pay for your move.
