    My name is ******* ******** ****.
    I am the daughter of ******* * ********* ******** who reside at ** ********* ***** ** ****** *******.

    They had their driveway done last summer and are not satisfied with the results.
    The business (Jerry's Asphalt) was contacted by my Mother 3 times last year and again twice this year and they have not yet been contacted by the company as promised. They were told someone was going to come out to the house and take photos (this was not done). My Mother had also requested they be first on the list for the Spring of 2023 to have their driveway redone as it was too close to Fall/Winter.

    I also phoned the company on my parents' behalf (with their consent) on June 23rd. I left a voicemail requesting a call back pertaining to the unsatisfactory work and also informed them I thought it was bad business for them not to have been in contact with my parents. I have not been contacted by this company either!

    I/we (my parents) are wanting a replacement and/or a proper & satisfactory repair of the driveway at no cost.

    Asphalt is made with Stones, Sand and Tar. Where ever the machine can not reach has to be done by leveling with a rake by hand and this ussually brings up some more stones. The uploaded pictures provided by the customer are showing me there is alot of stones which is better for strenght. I have been installing driveways for over 44 years now and what I see is perfectly normal. Please show any other company these pictures and they would agree! This is how asphalt looks for an HL3 mix. The only way you could make it look any better cosmetically, is by applying a sealer but it is not required and would void most companies warranty. This driveway should get a life span of over 20 years.

    There is nothing we can do and if we were to replace it, it would look the same! Maybe they would be happier spend alot more money and putting in some else like concrete.

    Any asphalt suppliers these days do not sell any mixes that do not have STONE, Since it would not stand up to the environment

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have initiated this complaint on behalf of my parents who reside in ****** **
    I live near ******* ** and work shift

    I was finally able to receive clear direction from my parents (my father in particular) as to how to proceed with this complaint.

    My father is not satisified with the response, nor am I.

    The owner himself never came to my parents' residence to view the driveway nor did he ever respond to their phone calls or mine, which were made numerous times.

    My father / 1 are going to take this case to small claims court and ask for a full refund etc. - I am investigating how this is going to be done.

    We are not satisified with the work done, nor the lack of professionalism Jerry's asphalt paving has shown to a customer and we will never positively endorse this company to anyone.

    I hired them to install fresh asphalt Nov 2022 and although it took a long time to get it installed ( waiting for good weather and letting subgrade settle) it seemed to be a good install. However, after first rain or snow melt. I noticed that was a spot that was holding water. I was about to contact **** ** (the owner) and he said when weather is warm the next year he would return to fix it. I also noticed that the following spring a "bowl" started developing in and seems to be getting deeper and wider. Ive been trying to get a hold of **** to come out and repair both spots but he is a ghost. Ive been trying for months through emails and calls but no answer. I paid about $14K (fairly large area). They offer a 2 year workmanship warranty for defects but it seems that this company is known for shotty work and not honouring their warranty. Please have these spots fixed and I will be removing(resolving) this complaint.

    I have replied to ***** more than a few times and had my guys go to the site to do the repair, the first spot was around a dry well catch basin that ***** hired someone else to install and it has settled beside this dry well catch basin, We can not be responsible for this since it has been installed 6 to 8 feet deep and we can only guarantee to a 12" depth not deeper, the second area is less than 1% slope and hardly holding any water after it rains. The only way to try to get this area to run off is if we saw cut and replace this area. or wait till the sun heats up the area so we can try to tamp down the high side to get the water to flow easier. Our contact says that we must have more than 1% slope to guarantee for water puddling. I do not know why ***** is saying we are known for doing shotty work. There is only a couple of suppliers that supply hot asphalt in London and we can only install / use what they supply us.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    1. the area beside the building has WAY more then 1" per 10 feet slope so there is no reason that water is pooling in that area. The picture clearly shows that it wasn't laid properly as you can see its in the middle of an area where all other sloped areas around it are fine. This is a clear indication of a "bowl effect". **** did mention he was going to come back and fix that area with heat and during summer but it still hasn't been fixed.

    2. the other contractor (his brother with a excavating company) did dig 6-8ft deep and did everything necessary to compact the dirt, let it settle for well over 2 months and we had some decent rain to help it further. So even though it says in the contract that you need a MIN of 10"-12" (which we did way more) it seems that you are blaming the other contractor ( your brother ) is at fault? If this is the case, I think the contract is supposed to say a MAXIMUM of 10-12" excavation.

    3. **** did answer promptly BEFORE receiving the payment in full then after when I brought up the issues at hand, he gave me maybe 2 replies in a 3 or 4 month window. I would almost email once if not twice a week at times and even tried to get a serious response by mentioning that I would be addressing this complaint with the BBB and still nothing.

    4. I said that it seems that you do shotty work and like to "GHOST" customers because after reading more reviews on google etc that had the same issues I'm dealing with
