    We are being ******** by a third party company collecting what allegedly we owed to the company for “free estimates”.
    There was no work done, a couple of minutes visit.
    Your receptionist provided us a confirmation that your company provides free estimate. We will not engage nor request your services or opinion if two years later you’re ********* us to pay.
    This is misinformation and misleading you have to stop ********* people.

    When the initial call came in, we were not aware it was an estimate and drove 40 minutes outside of the city expecting to complete work. We made numerous attempts to contact the customer to discuss this invoice from March 2022 and received no response. As such, the invoice was escalated to collections. After collections made contact to discuss, the invoice was written off.

    Two men came to clear a slow kitchen drain, they spent excessive hours (2days) doing all the usual procedures but could not find or solve the problem. All I could see as the hours ticked by were $ going down the drain. Owner Mike sent a different plumber who finally discovered the problem in a reasonable time frame. I was pleasantly surprised when the invoice came and I was only charged only for the second plumber’s time. I really appreciate the acknowledgement that it would be unfair to charge me for something that should have been solved in the first visit.
    This was a perfect example of “Service Recovery” after a bad experience.
    Even more notable was that Hyde Park plumbing took the initiative to do the right thing without my request or suggestion and for that reason I will use them again with confidence. Thank you Mike.

    Although their work was good and I was happy with the finished product and professionalism, make sure you get a complete quote and understand how their billing practices work. I was shocked that the final invoice was over 3 times the verbal quote they provided. They did reduce the bill after I challenged them, but I was still shocked by the final amount which was still significantly more than the verbal quote. If you are going to do business with these people, make sure you get answers to the following questions:
    • Get an explanation of their billing practices – how many people will be coming, what the charge per hour per person is, and when does the billing start i.e. from their office, or when they arrive to the site.
    • Ask them what incremental costs could arise.

    I would never recommend this company to anyone that I care about. I would never want them to go through what I went through.

    Huge thank you to the Hyde Park team yet again for their help & expertise. On Wed morning my furnace was making a horrible noise while a contractor & I were in my apartment working/ painting post my neighbour's fire. So we turned it off. It took some time for me to contact my property manager. The next morning two nice guys came.
    It was nice to see them as I recognized them from another job.. They did NOT stop accessing the problem until they found it.
    Listened to everything I told them about the situation and luckily it made that noise again for them to hear. They fixed it promptly. Then answered all my questions and explained everything to me.
    Afterwards, took a few mins to help me with my thermostat settings.
    I highly reccomend Mike & his friendly, respectful, professional, knowledgable team at Hyde Park Plumbing & Heating Ltd.
