    I signed a Purchase Agreement by e-mall for a new metal roof installation with London Eco-Metal Manufacturing on August 8th, 2024 and cancelled it by e-mail on August 15th, 2024, because I was not getting answers to my questions about whether the roof would be bat proof or could be made bat proof.Bats are a significant health hazard and common to this area. This roof design looked like it might be bat friendly due to the open areas along the valleys, drip edge and ridge areas.The Contract ****************** of Sale state that:The Buyer may, without any reason cancel the contract within 10 days from the contract date. The notice may be given by any method by which the Buyer can provide evidence of cancellation. See your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. On August 16th, 2024, the President of the company, *** *****, who I was told is also the Owner, gave confirmation of receiving the Cancellation. He referred to it as putting the job on hold. I replied by confirming it was a Cancellation.The salesperson, **** Rammeloo, then phoned me the next day trying to talk me out of the Cancellation. I told him that I had not changed my mind and if ever I decided differently, I would officially notify them in writing.I gave them a week to credit the $9,000 to my CIBC credit card. When that did not happen, I called London Eco Metal on August 22nd, 2024 and was told by the secretary that she would definitely refund the $9,000 to my CIBC card the next day.I gave them a few more days and on August 27th, 2024, notified the President *** ***** that I would be filing a Dispute of the Credit Card Charge with **************** is not responding to my e-mails, it has been 5 weeks and I have not received the $9,000 refund to my credit card.I have copies of all related documentation, my e-mails and recordings of all my phone calls.I am 70 years old and cannot afford to lose the $9,000 as I still need to get a new roof.Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Metal Roofing Contract Improper installation/Not honouring warranty In January 2022, we contracted with London Eco-Metal Manufacturing Inc. to complete a metal roofing job on my property. The job was completed sometime in February 2022, within contracted costs.In May-June 2023, we noticed noises that appeared to come from the attic. On closer inspection, we noted no rodents in the attic, but that squirrels had entered the soffits. On a couple of occasions, we have seen squirrels entering from two separate gaps in the roof. Since then, we have been telephoning the contractor. Calls were made regularly, as follows:June 12, 2023 July 27, 2023 September 18, 2023 September 22, 2023 September 25, 2023 September 28, 2023 Sept 29, 2023 October 3, 2023 In summary, London Eco-Metal Manufacturing Inc. acknowledged that there were gaps in the roof, which allowed squirrels access to the soffit interior. At every call, they provided assurances that they will call back and the installers would come to resolve the problem. Apart from one return call, they did not follow up, and we had to repeatedly make calls. On October 3, 2023, my last call was to **** to let them know they had until Friday, October 6, 2023, for the installer to fix the problem. Neither **** nor an installer has called us since. Since July 2023, we have had disturbed sleep, as the soffit runs along the bedrooms. The noises are very significant, and begin around 4:00 a.m. each morning. This has resulted not only in a detrimental impact on our peaceful enjoyment of our property, but also a tremendous negative impact on our peace of mind. Further, we are afraid there will be more extensive damage to the soffit/attic/shingles under the metal roof, if this matter is not resolved quickly. I would like to request Better Business Bureau to consider taking up my concern with London Eco-Metal Manufacturing Inc. and seek a *************************** ********* ************

    London Eco- Metal have contacted customer on October 19, 2023 and scheduled a service technician to do an inspection of roof to check if there are any openings which could allow squirrels to enter roof.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    The installers came promptly on Thursday, fitted all gaps with galvanized wires and screwed in loose edges. There was one squirrel trapped, who then got into the attic. We managed to 'walk' the squirrel out the front door! I am very grateful to BBB for their assistance and promptness in getting this resolved. Thank you BBB!
