And when he did the payment he agree no arguing and after some days suddenly he changed his mind.  The dealer  labor rate is way high then over.

I am rejecting this response because:

First off, I have been working as a parts advisor and closely with mechanics and shop owners for 12 plus years. So when I was new to ****** I needed a mechanic I could trust as all my contacts were in ******. I found ok tire and the first thing I discussed with the manager was labout cost. He told me his rate is $110 per hour but he would do $100 for in perpetuity. He is now claiming his labour rate is $120 on his response letter. It may be for other customers, but the deal me and him worked out was $100 per hour. This is a lie.

As far as a diagnose charge, the tow truck driver and myself are well versed in vehicles and start failures and we both told him on seperate occassions that it was the starter only! Not only that, but I chose to do the work at his shop which means the diagnose fee is waved, go to any reputable shop and they will waive it if work is completed at their shop. This was also discussed with **** and he agreed to never charge me a diagnose charge if I complete the work at his shop. This is his way of retaliating due to my complaint with bbb.

As far as the battery charge, I offered to swap it myself as it is a warranty battery that I supplied and picked up. He said its no problem its part of the starter repair, which it is because you cannot replace a starter without a battery and the battery will be drained or dead if the starter died. This is another thing he knows well I would never pay for, and hes just trying to grasp at straws for random charges to save face for bbb.

I will say it again, the dealer quoted 2.5 hours to change a starter on my exact vin. Car is original so they would be correct. So please Asim explain to me when I provided the starter itself, how 2.5 hours at $100 an hour plus a tire patch, (rough estimation $300 dollars tax included) turns into $515 dollars charged to my credit card? This is blatant price gouging.

    Thank you,
