Nissan Canada Finance tried to **** me out of a $9k refund when my 2021 Nissan Qashqai was written off by my insurer in September 2024. On September 16, 2024, I requested a payout for my car to find out the remaining balance, which was around $20k according to their calculation. My insurer then issued a $29k total loss cheque to Nissan Canada Finance (NCF). Despite my insurance policy covering depreciation, NCF refused to refund the excess amount, instead adding charges like "TOTAL LOSS LIABILITY and DEPRECIATION," which aren't listed in the lease contract.
    I repeatedly called to speak with a Supervisor or Manager for an explanation, but they avoided my calls, and agents dismissed me. **** ****** **** * *********** ****** ** **** ******** * ******** *** ***** ************* ** ******* ** ****** The only reason they refunded me the $9k excess was because I threatened to ****** **** ** *** *** *** take legal action. * **** ** ***** ********* ***** **** **** *** ****** ** ** ****** *********** ** *** * ***** *********** *** ******** *** ** ******** ** ***** *********** ** ******* * *** *** *** *** ** ****** ** ** ********* **** ***** *** ******** ** ******* ****** ** ******* * ***** ********** ***** ***** ***** ***

*** ***** ** * *** * ******* ********* ** **** ** ***. I had my car written off and was waiting for my cheque to return from Nissan after they made me MAIL it to them. They kept telling me to keep waiting and that it hadn't been processed yet. BUT have no fear, I discovered that the reason they're holding your money is that they've put it into a high interest account and are banking interest off YOUR money while giving you excuses as to why you can't get it yet. **** ** ******** ** *** ******** **** you can not hold someones money for more than a week. So do as I did and ******** to get legal action involved unless they give your money within a set day. Suddenly they went from "we need another 2 weeks" too "We'll have it ready for you in 2 buisness days." And then I get right on time. ** *** *** **** *** ** *** *** **** **** ***** ***** They are listed on the Canadian governments website as a recognized bank and finance company and that means they are held to Canadian finance laws just like any other company. * **** **** *** ***** ***** *** ***** ***** ***** Stick up for yourself *** ***** *** **** *** ** ****

Purchased car 2020. At that time we thought payments bi-weekly. Question if we could change monthly at a later the Dealership finance person said that he could see why not. Even thou we had changed our mind a week later they said that the dealership had to change it monthly instead of bi-weekly.
Upon going to the dealership we were informed that we could change to monthly we would have to purchase a new car.
Nissan financing we arranged with them monthly when our pensions came in.
At that time we paid 602.00
We were told by Nissan finance that the bi-weekly would still come out 300.46
I explained can't afford that. The gentlman said he recommended that we but a stop payment on the 300.46. Which I did i still do to this day. We paid 602.00 each month. By the end of the year they called and said we owed a payment So we increased payment 702.00 each month. We did the 3rd month in the second year. And continued to do this and I have constantly renewed my stop payment on the 300.46.
But at least 3 times a year they call as they try and take payment of 300.46 out. We explain please look at file and you can see everytime you call we arranged to do it this way. No chabnges. We get pensions once a month that is how the payment is made. I make the payment through my bank.
The reason for the 702.00 is too make up for the 2 extra payments during the year.
Last year in November they called again after 3 other times last year. They said we where 180 short. Explained Dec.21st 2023 a payment would be made. And to please look at the file. This is the way it is set up.
Than just January 19th 2024 they called asking the same question. Which I said to her same as always 702.00 at the end of the month. Asked if she could stop calling me ** ** ********** **** **** ***** ******* *** ***** **** *** ********** *** ******** ****** It is on the file. We are down too our last 2years. We are tired of the constant calls ever mths. They need to look at what was set up in the file.

They make arrangements and don’t wait until the date of the arrangement to come to pass.
