    ***** **** **** ** * **** ****** ******* ** *** ******
I called to have my door cable fixed (it was off of drum). I was told over the phone that it would cost $49 for the service call and all labour is included. The technician showed up and suggested we replace both cables to fix my door, he quoted me a price of $120 for both the cables (THATS RIGHT $120 FOR A PAIR OF CABLES THAT RETAIL FOR $10).
As a new homeowner I was in a rush to get my door fixed and I was not informed on how cheap this cables are so I told the technician to fix it.
But this business practice of price gouging new homeowners and uninformed individuals on pricing is super extreme. I had quotes from other garage repair companies to fix with new cables for $80-$110, I fell for the "$49 all service and labour included ******" and I regret it terribly. ***** ***** ********* *** **** **** ******** ** **** ***** ****** ****** ****************

Doormaster Garage Doors is reliable national chain with over 110,000 customer served across Canada. We have been helping customers with garage door repairs for over 30 years. *** ***** ******* **** **** *** *** ****** ****** ** *** ********* *********
Our prices are in accordance with market prices of other garage door companies in the market. we charge $49 service all fee which covers the cost of showing up at a customer and the labour to fix whatever problem, parts are extra. This was clearly disclosed to the customer during booking. The claim that garage door torsion cables retail is $10 is un-genuine and a lie since this part is not sold at any retailer in Ontario due to safety reasons. The customer is referring to buying at ****** which we or other garage door companies do not compare to since we are not a retail companies and we offer warranty beyond 30 days of ******. That being said to claim other companies quoted $80-110 for the cables is valid, but that is not including a labour charge or service call fee. I think your idea of paying someone $49+10 total of $60 to fix broken cables on a garage door is down right outrageous factoring in the time to have to professional service technician drive over to your house, spend over an hour working on the on problem, cost of truck/gas, insurance, advertising, call centre staff, cost of parts etc. I think as a new home owner you learn a lot as time go by on what it takes to up keep a house and be fair when hiring someone to do work. Wish you best of luck any future repair you will face in the future with that kind of thinking.

Our record indicate that the customer had chosen to get a quote on the insulated door which is $1250+tax (2" inch thick, 3-layer foam injected insulation, R-value 17.68) by no means this door is basic at all

the $995+tax  price is for non insulated door

Our record indicate that on March 31 the customer had a service call booked for $49 service call fee + $78 for the broken cable part.  At the time of the visit the customer decided to buy a new door instead and we waived the service call fee for him and he paid us $100 deposit toward an insulated door.. The total would have been $1330 including tax and the additional discount offered to him.  We reached out to the customer on April 8 to book the door install and we were told by the customer he doesn't want to go with the door at this time and if could hold the door till the end of May.  The customer was informed that we can not stock a door for almost 2 month due to the sales promo price we had running for the spring from the above mentioned flyer and damage that can happen to the door sitting for that long.  Customer asked us to cancel the order at that point knowing he will lose the $100 deposit minus the $49+tax ($55.30) service call he had booked.
