I am attempting to contact Parts Evolved regarding a warranty issue for a catalytic converter I purchased (for a 1997 Ford Thunderbird) online from them. Something inside the secondary converter is making a tinny rattling sound.

Through an **** message ****** *** from the company asked me to send a video of the issue and my vehicle's VIN number to **********************, which I did. I have not heard back from them and they do not answer their phone.

I was not able to enter their proper postal code into the form on ***, but you can see their postal code on their website.

I am rejecting this response because:

On February 17, 2023, I purchased a catalytic converter on **** from an account called premier_performance_canada, but the actual business name is Parts Evolved. Youll notice that the company boasts a 5-year warranty for the part on the **** listing. After installation later this year, the catalytic converter made a rattling noise. At the garage, I took a video of the rattle which was clearly coming from the inside of the secondary converter, near the middle of the unit. Parts Evolved did reply to me with the following on July 13: Hi ******, We received the following response from our manufacturer. Please read it and let us know if all suggestions have been explored/cancelled out. "I reviewed the video and then had **** review the video. The following is our opinion and you can advise on how you would like to proceed. If, you listen to the sound - it sounds like a rattle. In order to have a rattle like that there has to be metal touching metal somewhere. Loose substrate will not make that sound. We think that it can only be one of the following two options. There could be a piece of weld slug or ****** metal in the pipe. It, is on the split side which should be easy to loosen the clamp and remove it if that is what occurred. It may have been installed incorrectly and something is loose and hitting when the bang on it. The item itself could be hitting something they need to check for clearance. I'm sorry as I know it hard dealing with these things. Converters don't have any moving parts so it has to be one of those." Since then, I have written to Parts Evolved to let them know that my garage has ruled out all of the possibilities their manufacturer suggested. My garage has concluded that it is a manufacturing defect. FYI, Parts Evolved has not disclosed who their manufacturer is. After this latest follow-up, I have received no response from Parts Evolved regarding warranty.

    Desires resolution: replacement

    Sincerely,
