Hello, We hired Out of This World Plumbing to do several jobs (lead pipe removal, basement rough-in, backstop install). There final bill was over 20k and there were several major problems during the process. The *****, **** ******, agreed to a modest refund of $7216.48 on November 15th, 2022. We didn't receive the funds - or any communications. When we followed up on December 7th, **** advised us that he was currently unable to pay the refund. He paid an initial installment of $1,017.50. We accepted this installment however we've asked for a schedule or some kind of plan to repay the remaining $6198.98. **** has thus far evaded any commitment or plan to pay back the significant money he still owes us as part of this refund agreement. I've attached our letter to **** requesting the refund. The letter itemizes the major items that arose during the work performed by his company. I`ve also attached our correspondence with **** about the refund (in two files). In our opinion, we've been reasonably modest about recuperating costs from the botched project, which involved us having to hire another contractor to finish his company's job. We've been carrying those costs for several months - and we would like the repayment of the agreed refundable amount to be made as soon as possible. At the very least, we want a schedule for repayment that is respected by **** - and would like any assistance from the *** with securing that agreement. Kind regards, -****.

      Business Response

      Date: 27/01/2023

I have been in communication with **** in regards to the issue of compliant to which he has provided all the documentation.
As **** has mentioned we have agreed to refund monies for the work that was carried out and the only detail to which he has requested has been left unaddressed is how much and how often the refund will take place.
My intent is to repay $1000 or more each month until the total has been paid in full. I would prefer not delay repayment of the agreed funds however as mentioned in the emails provided, The business is recuperating after a restructuring.
As of this date, the remaining balance is at $5000.
I do understand the frustration that **** has experienced and and grateful for his understanding.

      Thank you

      Hello,

I appreciate the response from the business, however I do not consider the complaint resolved until the full payments are made. **** (Out of This World Plumbing) has made a commitment to pay a minimum of $1000 per month. We appreciate that plan.  If the plan is follow-thru, payments should be completed by May. Should that commitment be fulfilled, we would consider the complaint resolved.  Kind regards, -****.
