      Good afternoon I contacted Northern Security last week to get a quote on upgrading my security system. They informed me a tech would have to come and see our current system. (No mention of cost). They contacted my wife on Monday Feb 24/2025 to make an apt for Tuesday Feb 26th 2025(no mention of a charge to perform this service)Tech shows up at house asks my wife if he would like the battery changed in the panel and he had one in the truck( no mention of cost) replaces battery and connects keypads to get system up and running. Gives my wife an invoice for $571.16 (wife pays)I contact **** at Northern Security and had a heated conversation as to how the bill was that much and how my appointment for a security system upgrade became a service call repair bill? I explained that I knew the battery was defective and needed to be changed thats why I had the keypads disconnected and why I contacted them for an upgrade estimate. **** called back with my wife approved the work. I once again asked how the upgrade went from an upgrade to a service call. He replied with the scope of work changed. How can this be allowed? No discussion of cost for either the quote to upgrade our system or for the work to replace the battery. I also questioned **** as to where the quote was to upgrade my system? He replied with he would wave that charge if we wanted to upgrade later on and send the tech back out. This is totally leading someone on and taking advantage of a situation to make money! Totally unacceptable!

      I've attached a copy of my Invoice. I would like to know how they can get away with charging me a fee for a quote without informing me of the cost for any of the work performed?  

      -North Bay Zone 3 Travel & Mileage $247.00

      -Electronic Labor $40.00

      -North Bay Electronic Service Call $160.00

      -Truck Charge of $22.50

      -Battery $35.95

      Total $505.45 before tax

      I wanted a quote to upgrade my system. I wasn't informed of any cost's to perform this service. When i enquired about the quote they said they would wave the charge to send the tech back out next time.
