I recently opened an account with Tangerine Bank, providing all information requested up front, including scanning the front and rear sides of my Driver's License and taking a selfie. After I signed up, I received notification that I needed to provide additional verification of my residential address using a very limited list of things I don't have. I called customer service to find out what other documents I might use, and I was told there were none. **** ** *********** I have not had a home phone number for over 20 years, nor do I own a TV. I also do not own my own home, so I do not pay property tax. I do not have any utility bill - hydro, gas, water, sewer in my name.

In June of 2024 I learned a credit card had been fraudulently obtained in my name from Tangerine. I spent an entire day on the phone trying to have the issue was resolved. They called me back the next day confirming the details of the complaint and agreed to close the account. The account remains open to this day.Initial Complaint

I filed a consumer dispute with tangerine bank in July. By October after several follow up calls, complaints, and emails, I was notified that a resolution was reached and I would be fully credited the entirety of the transaction totalling to $1,295.83. The Bank failed to notify me as the client with any updates in regards to the open case, however post 2 business days there was a reversal reflected on the statement. I received no communication, or explanation.
In my attempts to seeks a resolution and clarity over the situation, Tangerine has made it increasingly difficult to get in contact with someone in a timely manner. ou can be expected to be transferred to many departments that are also unsure of how to proceed and don’t have the appropriate information and resources to assist me as the client. I have completed many complaints that have been closed without any resolution reflected in my statement or account.
Tangerine constantly continues to communicate information that is not accessible to the client, while also randomly calling and *********** to close the case id I didn’t provide information they requested which was identical to information I have provided in the past- on more than one occasion. Furthermore, I had to correct the tangerine representative who called as *** ****** to close the case on the date that she stated was not the date reflected on the email that was sent to me. I would like to see the Financial Institution Tangerine honour what they’ve communicated to me as the client and credit back the amounts plus any incurred interest associated with it. ** ** ************ *** * ********* ** ***** *** ****** ******** **** * ** ***** ******* **** **** *******This is a consumer dispute that I have already been told has been approved on two occasions. I was married in August 2023 and have been trying to update my last name with Tangerine bank since December 27 2023. I called Tangerine on December 27 2023 to update my name and they told me to send a photo of my marriage certificate and drivers license to ********************** along with my account information and the request to change my name, which I did. I didn't hear back from them. I sent a follow up email on January 11 with the same info and documents attached. Still no response. I submitted an inquiry through their app system and received a response that they received my email but never received the documents.
