      **** ****** Such a horrible experience with Penguin Basements right from the start. We started this process in June 2023 and it has still not been completed. We were having a basement walk up done as well as a few projects to finish off our basement. The outside workers rarely showed up. If they showed up for 5 hours a day that was a surprise. They also only worked max. 3 days a week. We were constantly given excuse after excuse. We were promised a double door and then the day of the door install we were told we could only get a single because of our chimney. I’m not sure why this wasn’t told to us 4 months prior when we were going over the plan. It’s not like the chimney wasn’t there. Our basement floor was ripped up which we weren’t aware was going to happen. We were told it was on us to figure it out. After an argument they agreed to fix it. Our floors were never protected during the Reno and now have numerous chips and cracks. We were building the walk out *** ** ******** ****** and were told she would be able to roll right out to her patio. That again is not the case. There is almost a foot of a step for her to get out which we’ve had to install a ramp. We didn’t want this. The bathroom tile had to be re done twice. The shower drain does not drain properly same with the bathroom faucet. 2/3 walls were painted in the bedroom. The baseboards were not painted when we were told they would be. Now for the damage they left at our property. Our backyard is a disaster. We were aware there would be minor damage but wow what we were left with is now costing us $5k to fix. Our driveway has been majorly damaged from the bin that sat on our property. Even our front yard is damaged from them driving the equipment all over our property. We had numerous calls to the city from our neighbours. *** ********* **** ** the workers were seen on machinery in flip flops. This Reno cost us $95k and we were left with a horrible job that still needs so much repairs & now they ignore us!
