    $1280 to change a faucet.
    On Thursday I found mold under my kitchen sink. I recaulked, tore out the moldy areas, and bought a new faucet just to be safe. My wife and I both work and are busy with 2 kids under 4, so even doing this much on my own was a bit stressful and our sink is in high-demand. However, I’ve changed faucets before, and I knew I could do it myself. Then I learned that the water shutoff was broken. At this point, I decided to call a professional. I called a few highly rated plumbers in my area and got quotes. The competition quoted $220-450. The Refined Plumber would not give a quote or even a ballpark estimate in advance, but I assumed it would be in the same range. Even if it was 10-15% higher, no big deal. The refined plumber was the only one available to come 8-12 am the following morning. Great. I went to sleep happy that my sink would be fixed in a few hours and a few hundred dollars. My in-laws rearranged their mornings to help out with childcare when the plumber arrived.
    Between 8-12 I politely declined service for the competition as they followed up on my inquiries. I knew that help was on the way. My mistake.
    Yanky and Nate arrived at 1 PM for our 8-12 window. Apparently there was a plumbing emergency. No big deal. Not convenient for my family and in-laws who arranged their day to be available in the morning, but I get it.
    After quickly assessing the problem, Yanky spent a while telling me about the various packages and memberships available. A salesperson or a plumber? We already know what needs to be fixed.
    Then the bombshell: $1280 to change a faucet AND they can’t change the water shut off valve. This was the whole reason I called a plumber. I told the receptionist when I ordered their service. How can this cost 3-5X what the competition quoted!?

    I always call the Refined Plumber for any plumbing issues. They respond promptly, even text me when they are on the way. The technicians are clean, polite, and troubleshoot quickly and accurately. Likely not the cheapest in the city, but definitely the best - you get what you pay for!

    Shawn was patient, kind and knowledgeable. I could have paid less but the other plumber didn't have availability right away. The entire process was straightforward and it was very easy dealing with Shawn who made me feel like i was in good hands the entire time.

    They were able to send out a technician same day, as promised. The office manager on the phone was curtious and efficiently answered all my questions. The technician was so knowledgeable and walked me through my issue and gave options for pricing for the repairs. Customer service was 10/10. You get what you pay for and they're worth every penny!

    I called Refined Plumbing because my toilet was continuously running. 3 hours later, a technician was in my house explaining to me that the flapper was fried. He presented me with options to repair or to replace the toilet. I decided to replace the toilet because it was already 10 years old. He had a toilet in his truck and was able to replace it on the spot. I wish all companies were this easy to deal with.

    Refined Plumbing responded to a request from me check why our hot water tank was not producing hot water. We made this request while we were in the UK on vacation.
    The technician told me by phone that both valves were “fried” (need to be replaced). He also said that our hot water tank was “fried” which we knew was not correct as the tank is only 3 years old. Having been advised that The Refined Plumber could not repair the hot water tank, I spent over 30 minutes making long distance cell phone calls from Ireland to get the tank repaired. We finally got through to ******** and their serviceman came only to find that the tank is NOT FRIED but had been set to “vacation mode” (not by us). He switched the tank back on & left. No charge.
    Due to Refined Plumbing’s technician’s egregious error in stating that the hot water tank was “fried”, i incurred over $100 in long distance phone calls in trying to reach ********. The service occurred on July 27 and I contacted Refined Plumbing 2 days after returning from the UK but our contact, Amanda O., was on vacation. I spoke to Taylor at Refined Plumbing who said she was not able to assist me with the situation and promised that Amanda would call as soon as she returned. Although Amanda admitted a few times during our conversation (sometime in September), she (and the Manager) refused consider any form of compensation for my losses due to their technician‘s error. Although they were the ones who didn’t reply to my request for a callback for over 45 days, they threatened me with Collection if I did not pay by Monday (the conversation with Amanda was on Friday). We paid the entire amount on Monday as requested but are not happy about their lack of accepting responsibility for a gross error on their part. I am also not convinced that the valves the technician replaced were necessary as they could not prove to me that they were actually in need of replacement. We feel very much taken advantage of and due some compensation.
