This company and the dealerships have lied to a large number of their customers about requiring a warranty in order to get financing.

This company collaborates with dealerships to carry out the ****** warranty **** in Ontario. Here’s how the **** works:

When a customer finances a vehicle, the dealership falsely claims that purchasing an extended warranty is mandatory for loan approval. In reality, lenders do not require extended warranties as a condition for financing. The dealership inflates the total cost of the loan by adding the overpriced warranty, increasing their profit while misleading the buyer.

I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS BUISNESS BEFORE. TIME HAS GONE BY AND NO CHANGES HAVE OCCURED. WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR THROUGH A COMPANY THAT TOTALLY RAILROADED ME AND HAS INTEGRITY ISSUES I ENDED UP GAINING FINANCIAL BACKING FROM AXIS. The paperwork I Provided in the past states that the interest charged would be revisited in 6 months time and lowered. I inquired at the 6 month point- not upheld, I inquired with the dealership- not upheld. The interest is for a 7 year term at 24 percent interest. it is very much ridiculous but i signed in Dec 31 last day of the year and month I needed a car -I was under distress. I HAD PAID INTO THE CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH WENT AT THE SAME TIME AND i WAS TOLD THEY DONT SELL EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I TRIED TO INITIALLY GET IT. I DIDNT KNOW I WAS BUYING THIS CAR BUT BEING TOLD IT WAS A LEASE TOO. FOUND OUT THROUGH BBB.. I CONTINUED THEN 1.5 YEARS INTO OUR CONTRACT WHICH I HAVE BEEN UPHOLDING WITH PAYMENTS AND INSURANCE AND THEY HAVE NOT. I COULDNT MAKE THEM BUDGE ON THE RESPONSIBILTY THEY HAVE TO OUR CONTACT. ****'S CARS WERE ALL RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM EXECPT MY YEAR MIRACULOUSLY. GOVT FOR RECALLS IS LOOKING INTO THIS RIGHT NOW ALSO. IM ONLY LEFT IN DOUBT AND IN A ****** *** STATE. I HAVE ALREADY TURNED TO BBB FOR HELP NOW I AM BACK. SINCE OUR LAST COMPLAINT I WENT AND TRIED TO PAY THE LOAN DOWN MY PAYMENTS NOW 3 X HAVE GONE UP BI WEEKLY WHICH IS NOT FAIR AND I NEVER AGREE TO. THEY AGREED TO OF COURSE KEEP THE MONEY IVE PAID IN FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AT THAT POINT PLUS $15000 LUMP SUM FOR THE $18000 CAR.I COULD ONLY GIVE THEM $10000.I NOW STILL PAY $240 APROX BI WEEKLY. I PAY INTERST ONLY AND FOR ANOTHER 4.5 YEARS. I WANT OUT OF THIS LEASE TO PURCHASE NOW. THE PRINCIPAL BALANCE I HAVE FOR THE LOAN AS OF OCT 2024 WAS $8000.00+. SIGNING INTO THIS IS LIKE A PROGRESSIVE LOTTRRY FOR THEM. INTEREST SKY HIGH. I AM TOLD OVER EMAIL THEY WILL NOT CHANGE THE 24 % INTEREST. THIS IS AGIANST THE FAIR TRADERS ACT-

Hi, I have a car payment with Axis Auto that is $75/weekly. I had informed them that on December 21st, I was laid off and would be applying for ei. I have also told them that because I will only be getting $2000 a month, I am unable to make payments until I am called back to work by my union. To break this down, as I did for them, $1024 is going straight to rent. The remaining $975 our family of four is barely scraping by on. Thats $975 for a month between four people. It is not possible. We have an empty fridge, we have no gas, we have nothing! I have provided Axis of pictures of our bank accounts demostrating such. In addition to this, they have contacted a member of my family by text and phone call, which to me, gives them every right to now be part of the conversations I am having with Axis. They will not talk to my family member and stated they need written permission from me to do so....after theyve already involved them by calling and texting her?
Fact of the matter is, on their website there is a link you can contact Axis if you are having trouble making a payment. We did this. Ive been speaking to one of their reps my message for over a month..they know my circumstances and refuse to offer help in any way, no recommendations, no deferred payment option..absolutely nothing! And this is a layoff. Totally unavoidable on my part. This particular representative is harrasing me at this point. I have told them I cannot pay until my union calls me again..we have provided my union phone number so they can call themselves...instead they message me requesting "any amount of money..$40, $20..anything" and I continue to tell them that I literally do not have anything! My entire ei payment went to cover rent! This is on a weekly basis, if not more often that I'm receiving these text messages. Im already down, my family is suffering, we dont have anythhing. They have now stated they will repo my car. And continue to charge my account giving my nsf charges i cant afford.

I have had two vehicle loans with Axis Auto Finance. The previous loan was charged an ******* amount of interest, of which they keep making claims that they did not despite my payments adding up to $25440 on a $13007 loan. The final four payments of $424 each were not applied to the remaining balance of $60 for 4 months, resulting in me paying $1696 on a $60 balance, of which they also dispute. They reported only 53 months of my 60 month loan to *******.
All of this has been discovered once I had taken out a second loan with them on a vehicle. The vehicle has been deemed unsafe for the road by my insurance company. Trying to return the vehicle to the dealership for misrepresentation, and replace the vehicle with something safety has been made more difficult by the balance of my current loan that after a year of payments has only gone down $1238 despite my total payments equalling $5548. All attempts to resolve the issue with the company have been met with ******** and **** while they ignore the proof I send them of their overcharging. Now they are making threats to reposses the vehicle because I have put a stop payment on my last two payments since the dispute began as I informed them I would if a resolution could not be reached. The payments are bi-weekly so I am only behind one full month, which does not entitle them to reposses, as they have been informed of the vehicles road status and the fact that it is going to be sent back to the dealership for a refund, they have ignored all this information and continued making nasty threats to reposses and sue me despite their ********* interest rates, failure to accurately report to the credit bureaus and breach of contract being the reason for the dispute in the first place.

This issue is about my late Mother's vehicle. She sadly passed away October 7, 2023. I am her daughter, sole heir and executor of her small estate. The only debt outstanding was a lease for a 2016 *** *****. I phoned Axis Auto Finance Lending Corp. October 11, 2023 to inquire if I could buy out the lease. I was never really given a straight answer, but sent them the death certificate and the holographic will, as requested. They balked at the will, but accepted payment for the lease in full October 17, 2023. As of today's date, I have not received transfer papers or other any paperwork which would allow me to register, then sell this vehicle. I was eventually told they were sent October 25, 2023. As a former ****** **** employee, I can guarantee, it does not take 6 days from Etobicoke to Thunder Bay. I have in my possession all of my Mom's papers, proof of payment and an email chain.

Axis has been on me like hair on soap , first they wanted me to pay a fee for changing payment dates and I went to the bbb about that , all was good for awhile but now they assume that wen my car insurance ran out I never renewed , they even called me a **** , I sent them my insurance papers via email . I found out Monday the 3 rd that axis put on my
Credit report 11 delinquencies , which I have none as I never missed a payment , I found out when I applied for a loan for a different car and loan company and they declined me due to 11 delinquentcies.
I don’t believe that it was very professional of them to be calis like that .they didn’t tell me but she did say wen I give my insurance papers then they will take off what they put on as I was told , I didn’t understand until a bank found 11 delinquencies .
I would like it if they take it off so I can payout the car and be free of thier immaturity of the drama , I don’t know what’s next they are going to bother me about ,. Like walking on egg shells .

I am rejecting this response because: the complaint was for the insurance and how you would not explain why after 7 months you wanted the insurance documents sent , and when asked it would be directed some other way as it did in your response , about missing a payment which I did not say that , out of spite , payroll had a problem and pay wouldn’t have gone in until the 6th but I wasn’t allowed to explain u saw it as a threat and that was it !
I have gotten to the point where what is said and what is actually the problem is , making it to be a bigger problem then what it is ! This month insurance next month it will be ? I can’t do anything right and wen I try I get shot down by all staff so this is why I communicate on here

My car was stolen on May 2/23 and it was brought to a police impound lot. I contacted the Insurance company etc and my car accumulated daily charges while the insurance company was investigating.

However, on June 2/23 Axis Auto Finance repossessed my vehicles saying, I was in arrears and my car was in the process of been repossessed. I was not contacted from Axis Auto Finance about this matter. At this time, I still believed ******** Insurance was investigating the theft of my car.

I contacted Axis Auto Finance and ******** Insurance regarding this matter. ******** Insurance agreed to pay $1400.00 for daily charges in the impound lot. However, Axis Auto Finance is providing me with conflicting quotes. Axis says I owe $3008.90. I received an email from ******* ****** on June 12/23 and she quoted me $1530.10.

Axis states I owe $30-$60 per day for storage fees but will not give me an exact amount.

I feel this whole issue from my car been stolen and repossessed and ******** Insurance and Axis Auto Finance acting in bad faith has been very disheartening and abuse of my consumer rights.

A lot of my emails go unanswered and when I speak with Axis, the staff are very ********* *********** *** **************!

      Business Response

      Date: 23/06/2023

Hello *** *******, once Axis was made aware that your
vehicle was impounded, it exercised its rights to repossess the vehicle
pursuant to our loan agreement. On the date of repossession, your account was
in arrears. On June 2, 2023, in an attempt to mitigate storage fees from
accumulating, Axis exercised its right to repossess the vehicle. In order for
the impound lot to release the vehicle Axis paid the storage fees and as such
your Insurer reimbursed us. The insurance funds were allocated to your account. Your insurer advised us that the vehicle was not damaged and that they
would close their file. The following is a breakdown of the outstanding $1,530.10
that was quoted to you by Axis:

      $891.45 Axis
      Repossession Fee
      $638.65 Payment
      Arrears on date of Repossession

We hope this addresses all your concerns, otherwise please feel

I am rejecting this response because:

      1. I was informed by **** **********, Senior Paralegal, on June 23/23 I would have to pay $2030.63 to retrieve my car, however, that is incorrect.

      2. I paid Axis Auto Finance $2030.63 on June 27/23 via etransfer, and then there was an instruction to contact *****.

      3. I contacted ***** and now I owe $1,170.38 for storage fees.

      4. Axis Auto Finance fails to address the issue of why my car sat in the Edmonton Police Impound for three weeks in May. They must have known that my car was stolen and an insurance claim was initiated.

      5. I would like Axis Auto Finance to pay $1,170.38.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/07/2023

      Hello *** *******,

The breach took place when your vehicle was seized and
impounded, coinciding with the outstanding balance on your account. On June 1,
2023, we received a notification from Edmonton Police Services stating that
your vehicle was scheduled for disposal on June 3, 2023. Upon receiving this
information, we promptly retrieved your vehicle from the impound before its
imminent disposition. The amount quoted to you to redeem your vehicle was the
amount owed only to Axis, not including additional fee’s charged by the 3rd party *****. We acknowledge your situation and would like to emphasize that
Axis had no incentive to repossess your vehicle. In fact, it was Axis that
collaborated with your insurer to secure coverage for the Edmonton Police
Storage Fees, which would otherwise have been charged to your account. Our
actions aimed to mitigate any additional financial burden you may have faced. Unfortunately,
the ***** fees were a result of the aforementioned breach and as a result Axis
will not pay these fees on your behalf.

      Thank You

In addition, I had been trying to contact Axis to be enrolled in the hardship program prior to the theft of my car and the repossession and due to lack of professionalism by Axis, my emails were ignored and unanswered on this matter. I received inconsistent and incompetent responses from Axis staff. I am on a tight budget, with more car than I wanted, but this is just context, I missed a payment for December, the money went to joining *** as I though the car had run out of gas, then the battery died, got a boost but the starter motor began smoking. Had arranged to get new snow tires, so had it towed to that garage. The owner called to tell me the motor was gone, I went over paid him, and got it towed to Hyundai, where they replaced the motor, an two serpentine belts, I had to pay for the belts. fast forward to mid April, and I forgot to move money back into the account, it was before the car payment was due to come out, but it was returned nsf. So, two payments late, and as I had freaked out at seeing something I misread, I complained about the person who chose the car. I realize that was not the issue, but I was beyond my wits end.

I spoke to someone about the missed payment, they were inflexible, and as I didn't have any extra, but I had been approved for the disability tax credit, finally got that done, and ***** Auto finance had been taken over by Axis by then, when they called, it was the same deal, just more aggressive, so that got me out the door to get it done, perhaps not ideally, but good enough, and they almost didn't do it, so grateful to *** ***** for that...on the way home someone from Axis calls, but the bus was too loud, so he said he would call back in ten minutes, which was fine, I was prepared to cover the two missed payments and the nsf charges, but when he called there was an extra 1000 dollars added on for a repossession that hasn't happened, and then i was told it was their car and I was just paying to use it and he didn't want to take my money, instead seemed focused on berating me and winding me up, which is normally very difficult to do, but I'm just tired, and don't need to deal with those childish tactics, and again, doesn't let me pay, but legally not required to pay their business operation expenses.aside from NSF charges

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

What they didn't say was that they had already put the car into repossession without saying anything about it, other than doing they best to wind me up.  How do I know this?  I got a call from the one engaged to do the repossession, in between the time i said it would take a few days and getting the money.  if they actually believe verbally ***** is just fine, **** * **** **** ** **** *** ******** ******* *** ****** ... and this is beside the fact that this car was chosen for the max profit it made the sales person

      Sincerely,

On February 1 I took possession of a vehicle financed by Axis Auto. I was informed my payments would be bi weekly and soon began trying to contact them to have my payments moved to monthly, on the 20th, which is when I have always made my car payments. I was told i would have to make the first payment THEN it could be moved. I accidentally missed the first payment just due to it being new and immediately called within 12 hours to pay over the phone by credit card. I asked now that I’ve made my payment could the dates be moved… I was told the agent put a request in to their supervisor and I needed to call back. I called back and was told I called too late and needed to make the upcoming payment then call back. I did. They said it’s too soon and call again. I did. They sent another request to a supervisor. The third payment came out and went NSF, I’d assumed it was moved and it wasn’t. Again I made the payment and was told a manager was emailed with my request. It’s now April 18 and my payment was JUST moved last night but I can’t get anyone to tell me what my new payment amount is. I have incurred so many NSF fees on both ends due to lack of communication. *** ***** *** ** **** ** **, I have called in tears begging them to move my payment date many times and I tell them it’s been incredibly stressful and expensive for me. They’ve waved one NSF fee. One. I can provide phone records and bank statements. I would like to be credited for ALL except the first NSF fee as that was definitely my oversight.
