    Alta Window Fashions last published the R-Value for their Honeycomb Hybrid Pleat shades in their Product Information Guide in 2018. The shades on their website as Energy & Cost Efficient (https://****************************************************) as well. After calling to request an updated R-Value they were unable to provide this information on this line as it has not been tested to validate it. My particular interest is on their Peaceful Allure - Hybrid Pleat.

    This information should be available for customers to review and confirm its energy efficiencies, otherwise Alta Windows is conducting ***** and ********** advertising. The fact that they removed their R-Value rating from publication raises the concern that they are not truly energy efficient.

    I am requesting they provide this information to consumers, like myself, or revise their website.

    1) The company continues to advertise their shades as 'energy efficient' yet unable to prove that by providing the R-value for the shades.

    2) The company continues to avoid addressing the root cause of the matter by providing the requested 'energy efficiency' information.

    Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. While we do not publish R-values for our honeycomb products at this time, the general energy efficiency of cellular shades is publicly available. Based on the information the individual provided, it appears that the individual is located in the USA. A helpful resource may therefore be the information the US Department of Energy has made publicly available on its website, regarding the Department's view of the energy efficiency arising from a honeycomb shade design. We hope this provides some of the information the individual is looking for.

    I am rejecting this response because:


    Alta is avoiding the responsibility to verify that there meets the US Department of Energy efficiency standards for honeycomb shades.  Instead of testing that their product complies they are leveraging the name ‘honeycomb’ in their marketing tactics.  This is misleading and poor representation of business conduct.

    Alta shades are not listed as an energy efficiency product on the US Department website, therefore unless Alta can verify with their R-values they should not advertise as such.

    Alta should remove ‘energy efficiency’ references from their website until they can prove it as such.

    May of 2022 I went to **** ***** to order a free replacement part for my Shade-O-Matic Vinyl Shutters. I was put in touch with the Ontario Representative for *******. It is almost 1 year later and I still do not have the correct part. I have received the incorrect part twice. The ******* representative does not respond to emails I have had to follow up with her, the response is always the same she will look at my email.

    In September of 2022 I hade a warranty claim for my Shade-O-Matic Vinyl Shutters as some have discoloured, it is the same scenario. There has been no resolution, I have provided the supporting documentation requested and still not response. I have emailed and called and still there has been no response/decision on the status of my claim.
