We have been using this company for years to transport our wood doors to our clients and we never had any issues with them. They were recently bought by ******************** in Mississauga and in the last 2 months, 2 of our shipments have been damaged by their forklift operators. We put in a claim for financial compensation for the damages on March 25 and haven't received a cheque yet. I have called and emailed many times and they keep giving me excuses. We replaced the product that was damaged at our own expense and Orillia Fast Freight was supposed to deliver the product for free. They charged me $ 169.50. I called the accounting department to inform them that I wasn't supposed be charged but they said I had to pay it. I also asked where our cheque was for our compensation and they said it was in for signing. I called again and they said it was mailed 2 weeks ago. They keep calling me for this charge of $ 169.50 which we aren't supposed to be paying. The next shipment that was damaged happened on May 9 and I asked them to expedite the claim and provide us with compensation so we can remake the product and send it to the client but I keep getting the run around. They billed me for the shipment in the amount of $ 1,075.65 and we aren't paying them until we receive our compensation cheque. They have been very aggressive in trying to collect their money but very stubborn in issuing payment for our damaged products.

    Business Response

    Date: 15/08/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/06/27) */ Good Afternoon The shipment that shipped was improperly packaged, exposing the material to damage, the product should be wrapped and protected for shipping, there was also a overhang on the shipment This is the reason we denied the claim and have explained this to the client, in a past claim, We can not honor a claim where shipment is not properly packaged Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/06/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The packaging was approved by Orillia Fast Freight and that is how we shipped our products off. The point is that the receiver handling the package was negligent and carelessly rammed into the crate at hit the product at mid height 40" off the ground. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************. In our case the driver drove right into the product which was stacked. The product that was hit had an overhang of 4". Hence the driver is to blame. Orillia is denying the claim because the product damaged was expensive.
