New home build hardwood flooring purchased during Covid from Westboro flooring who was not able to fufill our choice of floor due to supply issues we accepted their offer of a different size and make of last in stock old hardwood that was similar colour we accepted as to not delay our home. From day one during our closing walk through we asked for a corrector pen or stain as we noticed some seams were lighter and a scratch which shows very light, builder contacted Westboro to obtain hardwood floor pen corrector, this was the beginning of three years of builder to flooring to builder warrantee issues Hardwood that was installed expands and shrinks substantially causing a 15 foot long gap near our bedroom, our builder has had a hardwood professional look at it for possible options to correct - the floor started to wear substantially within year one builder was made aware year two as the areas of the hardwood that lost all the finish are areas that are not high traffic nor are they wet areas like in front of a sink. This product is defective and the flooring company has blamed us for the problem because we use a mop this is our fifth house with hardwood we have never had a problem like this before: flooring company reply by offers a discount for us to purchase new flooring, again, and this is not including install costs. We sent a sample of the hardwood and had a representative here who clearly saw the issue and that its impacting the kitchen area primarily if the mop was an issue the whole house would have this problem: other areas its the seems only which have the finish worn off: The response and offer of a discount is not acceptable these floors are not even three years old and look terrible the finish is gone the colour is gone we know we were given a sub par product words used was last in stock, dry smaller planks but close to your colour choice we do not accept having to purchase new flooring and install it at our expense.

Yes my understanding is we have warrantee and this is why our builder went back to Westboro for a warrantee claim. I can forward the email response where they (Westboro) state Ive broken warrantee as we used a mop and hardwood floor cleaner to clean our floors  - I would like to know how else we are to clean our floors?  Yet Westboro did offer to give us a discount to repurchase new floors since these are clearly defective:

      thank you
