1 starIve had the Foundation Guys inspect my sump pump system every year except one (the guy doing the inspection that year cancelled the day of our appointment and wouldnt give us a rescheduling date) since they installed it 5 years ago. The inspections would take approx. ***** hours at a cost of $350-$375. They included a detailed invoice indicating what had been done. This year (March 2025) the company representative came for 45 minutes. provided an invoice that stated nothing other than the words system is good, and left me with a bill for $590 + tax ($666 in total). When I called to complain I was told by Moose I was wrong about how long these inspects take and wrong about what theyd charged me in previous years. His argument was Ive always paid this price. When I asked him to go into my file and tell me what Id paid in previous years he suddenly changed the subject by indicating I was paying for the companies expertise. His solution?.have the inspection done every second year instead of every year. My solution?.never again have them inspect my sump pump system and save the $666 inspect fees for 45 minutes work.Review fromMark S

1 starLitany of problems include 1. Date changes after booking, sometimes with no notice. 2. Poor/no communication with office mgr, emails and phone calls going unanswered. During one discussion we did have, he blamed our salesperson (who was on family related leave, at that point) for the problems and scheduling issues. We were surprised and appalled by this because the sales guy has always been completely open and honest with us and has been stellar in trying to help navigate the issues that kept creeping up, even when off work. The sales guy has been the ONLY one at all interested in trying to salvage this company's reputation with us as a client. Massive kudos to him.3. Two pits were dug (side and back of house) to confirm and expose cracks; but pit on back of the house ignored a visible crack 6 inches to the side of the pit. Even the reviewing engineer asked why they dug it there.4. To repair and fill in, the crew was to expand the one pit to expose the actual crack. When the crew arrived, they appeared to know nothing about this (it was in the work order) and had to contact someone to check.5. Once repairs were done (Oct 30), we paid the bill by credit card and received the little receipt from the payment machine. The crew chief said that a proper receipt would come from the office. Nothing came. We texted and called with the sales guy a number of times about this and he said he reminded office mgr several times. To date, we have STILL not received a final receipt.6. During our post-completion conversations with sales guy, we said that he was welcome to share texts between us and him with management. Our understanding is that when he did, he was told, "We need to do better". Did anyone contact us afterwards to apologize, to ask our side, to acknowledge the problems? No, nothing. There was zero attempt to reach out to us.What are we to assume by this? Only one conclusion: Foundation Guys don't care about their customers.Beware!Review fromT.K. B

I received a quote from the foundation guys for a property in ************. I was buying an investment property with a foundation issue and I knew it would be a big job to fix. My partner called in ************, their salesperson to quote. At first ***** said $20-25k and it was an easy fix. Once we closed on the property it was hard to reach ***** but he eventually came back and said $40k. We reluctantly agreed and provided the needed deposit. After many call attempts my partner finally got ahold of ***** and he then said $60k was the new price, even though we already had given the deposit with the locked in price. This is extortion, I have contacted *********** and won't rest until our deposit is returned or our agreed upon price is honoured. I will make sure everyone in ON knows the Foundation guys are not professional by any means and this company should be avoided at all costs. This is a real story and the house is on Augustus ** in Cornwall in case the owners want to pretend like I am making this upThe Foundation Guys Inc.

We apologize for the inconvenience, we have your deposit check at the Office. By the time the deal went through, there was in an increase in the steel price that are completely out of our control. When the contract went through the approval process, it was not approved by the Owner of the company. Our Company policy is to refund deposits, when a Proposal is not approved. Steel prices are extremely volatile and completely out of our control. We sincerely apologize for you customer experience, and we thank you for the opportunity to do business with you. Please contact the office at ************ to arrange to pick up the refund for the deposit which is waiting for you at reception.Review fromArthur L

It is a serious code of ethics violation to give a quote for a Radon system when one is not needed. I have personally been in homes where simply sealing Radon entry points such as sump pump lids. Floor cracks etc for under $50 would have solved the problem ! Are you people even certified with the **NRPP to do proper Radon mitigations. This is Lung Cancer were talking about here not simply fixing basement issues. **************** and be honest or stay away from Radon all together. I am a *************** Mitigator since 2007The Foundation Guys Inc.

We are clueless as to what prompted this complaint. We do not know who you are. People call ** with Radon issues and if they want a test, we test. If they do not want a test and just want a quote on a mitigation system we give them that. The customer calls US. Yes, we ARE certified by the **NRPP. Thank you.Review fromSummer B

1 starHorrible customer service (or non existant customer service) should be their motto. Was supposed to be a 1 day job, 2 days **** Day 1 they show up and work from 930 to 3, After they leave they call to tell us that they dont have the sump pump and cement needed to finish the job - meanwhile well pump is completely disconnected (no water!). Luckily they came back the next day Day 2 they come and install the sump and start doing our window *****. Instead of putting proper form work they poured into the old osb and insulation plugs and didnt reinforce - one was bowing out into our electrical service. had to call them back and make them reinforce their crappy form work. Day 3 my husband had to take the day unpaid so he could supervise them fixing their work. They had to dig out the sump and reset it, and the window *****, no surprise there were huge insets and they had to infill with parging while shaving down the bowed out areas.Next day they came back and shaved down one window well and parged to the top but with the other one they just parged up to flashing and didnt fill up to the baseplate. texted the sales manager and no response. He has a US number so you cant call without incurring international fees. 1 week goes by and manager tells us hes talked with the production and theyll call. Then we get a call from the administrator for payment. Told her were waiting for the production manager to contact us. Finally half a week later the production manager drops by and basically tells us whats the problem you got what you payed for, now pay us or well put a lien on your house. he offers us spray foam (which is a bandaid) and told us its totally normal that theres cracking. He basically said we should be grateful they finished the job and that theyre not scammers like another contractor thats been on the news. we paid $15k and they Refused to offer any discount for all the bad work. S***** communication, s***** management and s***** customer service.Review fromDavid F

1 starI received a quote from the The Foundation Guys to patch 2 cracks in my home's concrete foundation which I accepted on Nov 8, 2022. The patching works was performed on November 28, 2022 using 10 Cracklocks and a great deal of Flexicaulking. I was advised to not touching anything for at least 48 hours to let everything set properly. After a few days (5), I contacted The Foundation Guys salesman that I dealt with to let him know that I was not very happy with the appearance of the work. 7 of the ****************************************************************************** lower than the surrounding concrete like I had been led to expect. Plus the Flexicaulking was just slapped on with no attempt to smooth out the product. It looked very unprofessional especially when you consider that I paid them $2,136.27 (including tax) for less than 3 hours of work. I was informed that I would need to talk to the Production Manager (***************). After many attempts to contact Mr. ******* I managed to talk to him on the phone around December 15, 2022, and he informed me I would need to send him picture of the work. Unfortunately, due to my Christmas Holiday plans, I was unable to send him the pictures until January 02, 2023. Since then I have been unable to contact Mr. ****** by phone or Email. I know he is at work and that he receives my Emails and that he is informed of my phone calls asking him to call me back but all to no avail. I would advise all potential customers to be extremely wary when dealing with this company. It appears that I have learned a costly ****** (i.e. to not pay in full for a job until you are 100% satisfied) because The Foundations Guys just don't seem to care about a customer or the quality of their workmanship once you have paid in full.Review fromJames O

2 starsI had my eavestroughs and downspouts replaced by The Foundation Guys on my older bungalow house in South Keys on Sept 29, 2021. I was pleased with the professionalism of the work and the look of the finished product. There was a leak in the back eavestrough a month later but it was fixed or at least quickly addressed to my satisfaction. The following summer I noticed a leak with heavy rains in the front eavestrough over the door and in a downspout by the ********* wrote the Foundation Guys an email on Sept 20, 2022, which was still within the year's warranty on their work, on an email address they had corresponded previously with me. They didn't respond to my inquiry and so I followed up a month later. I was informed that the work was now no longer under warranty and would cost $250 or $350 to send someone out to check. They also suggested that the downspout might be full of leaves. My son cleaned the spout with a hose and we saw there were no significant leaves and we determined the leak was at the downspout elbow and sent photos of same to the Service Manager.Three followup calls and emails in November resulted in a polite office staff member each time saying they would pass the message on (again). But no one ever got back to me by phone or email (after I sent the photos) with a suggestion or resolution. It is now mid December and almost 3 months worth of followup on my part. I know everyone is busy but it shouldn't take that long to get back to me or acknowledge my concerns.I am a pensioner and am tired of following up and waiting for the courtesy of a reply on what seems to be a simple issue to fix, despite the office staff being very friendly and courteous.I guess I have no choice but to fix the spout in the spring with a handyman, and if I have to do that, I will not recommend Foundation Guys to my friends and neighbours for their eavestrough work purely due to their poor followup response to concerns with work done by them..Review fromKathryn C

1 starI wish I'd come here before the salesman walked in in the spring - One guy did look under my house (a manufactured home -- mobile home without wheels) and they said I needed new smart jacks to level things up (problem was that the door wasn't shutting properly and they said the supports under the house had shifted). They did say that I might need a handyman to adjust the jacks. I haven't been able to find anyone to "adjust the jacks" so I've asked repeatedly for them to recommend someone who could finish the job before winter. After $20,000 of jacks installed, the situation has gotten a little worse and now it's getting colder, so crooked doors are a problem with keeping the house warm. The installers came back this morning and said they could see that they'd done their work properly but they don't actually level houses, so the salesman will call me Monday to discuss a price for actually fixing the problem.Review fromChad L
