This contractor did some landscaping work for me which included installing a drainage pipe in my backyard. The existing pipe was above ground, was properly sloped but was not long enough to drain the rain water from the roof directly all the way into a swale in my backyard. The contract was to remove the existing pipe and install a pipe underground so that the water will not freeze and extend the pipe all the way to the swale. Nothing too complicated. The contractor landscaped the area along the pipe with trees and plants some of which were quite expensive. Two of the expensive plants died and the contractor agreed to replace them. When the new plants were planted, it was obvious that they had died because of standing water in the trench. The contractor concluded that the standing water had something to do with the porous pipe he had installed and installed a non-porous pipe not underground but above ground at a slope which does not conform to Ontario's building code. All this means that the original terms for installing the pipe were not met. The contractor was asked to remedie the situation and indicated he will not do it presumably because he fears the remedial work may adversely affect the plants and reduce his profit.

Dear Customer.I did a work for you and replaced the trees because they was not doing well . The **** spout pipe extension has to be replaced by solid 4 draining pipe what I did.The pipe has enough slop for the water to be drain away from the house properly . The water wont freeze .All the houses around has the same pipes and I can see way this pipe will not work. I have done the front yard all most the same for your front yard and it is working fine. If is the pipe 12 inches deep will be the same. The water has to run away from the house and is working. I am sorry for you if you dont believe it.I will be do it if is not working next spring .Best Regards.
