    My son had taken classes with Goethe Institute Ottawa during the period 2021-2022. It came to my attention through one of the teachers that even though the Goethe Institute record shows that he achieved an advanced level in German, he is actually at a very early basic level of reading, writing and comprehension of German. The teacher was very surprised that he managed to pass all previous levels officially. I would like to get a refund from Goethe Institute for all the five courses that my son took: each course cost $250.00 with a total of $2,250.00. I have been communicating with Goethe Institute in Ottawa, Montreal (the head office in Canada), and Washington D.C (the head office of North America). The process has been lengthy and frustrating as I am shuffled from one office to another. Goethe Institute does not want to admit their lack of quality in education and assessment. I am so disappointed that such a renowned educational organization reaches that level and not be transparent and honest in delivering their service. Over the past few years, I learned through Goethe Institute staff about challenges regarding the number of student enrolment. I believe that due to low student enrolment, students are being passed unjustly from one level to another to ensure continuation of income.
