My 2002 Honda Civic was towed by Ottawa Metro Towing on May 31st., 2024. On Saturday, June the 8th, I found out my car was missing. After calling 311, I found out Ottawa Metro Towing took my vehicle. When I arrived at Ottawa Metro Towing, I found out my vehicle's rear bumper was touching another vehicle. Minor scratches caused by this. My driver side door was unlocked and my parking brake was down. As soon as I get inside, I noticed my driver side door was forced open. The door trim (plastic weather trip) and door frame paint were damaged. My inside door panel has numerous scratches. My window tint was scratched on numerous places as well. I immediately asked to speak someone at Metro Towing and nobody wants to talk to me. They repeatedly told me, "You are leaving and we are done talking." When I couldn't talk to anyone from Metro Towing, I went home. After I got home, I saw more damages on my vehicle. Aside from my rear bumper scratched by touching another vehicle when parked, my front bumper was damaged too. Something dropped on my front bumper, as the result, there were vertical scratches on my front bumper. Now my vehicle is leaking water in the rain and on the highway, it whistles loudly. I do understand my vehicle does not worth a lot of money, but I kept it in good shape as evidenced by the fact this vehicle still runs on the road. All those damages I mentioned are caused my Metro Towing and they refused to take responsibility for the damages caused by the towing. I want you to know that nothing was missing from my vehicle including cash. City of Ottawa legal department told me to contact Ottawa Metro Towing and they never responded to my e-mails. I would like to know what my options are and how can I get this issue addressed. I also want to prevent this from happening to other vehicles being towed by Metro Towing in the future. Thank you in advance and have a nice day!

I was charged for two days of storage for a towed vehicle. It was dropped off after 8pm on July 4th and picked up the morning of July 5th. I called as soon as the vehicle was towed and asked to pick it up right away but was told I had to wait til the next day. I shouldnt be charged for two days of storage when it was stored for less than 24 hours, especially when I wasnt given the option to pick it up the day of. They say they are 24 hours but they told me on the phone I can only pickup a vehicle between 8am-6pm

On Jan. 29th during a blizzard my car slid to the side of the road very slowly (5kph) and gravity took over and I slid about half way into the ditch. Now my car was still running when we came to a stop. I tried to leave a sign but it was a blizzard. I had arranged to have my car pulled out but Ottawa Metro Towing got to it first. They pulled it out backwards (from the rear) and right onto a flatbed while the front wheels were locked. When I went to pick it up I can tell it was pulled off the truck and it didn’t start. I asked them if they would fix it but they just shrugged shoulders. The damage they did was to strip the timing gear. It’s taken me awhile to ask for help but I’m on medical leave ODSP with cancer and I only get a small stipend each month. Not having my car (still have 4 payments) will push back all my appointments and operations for months. Is there anyway to sue the company to fix or replace or money to get a used car? Does anyone win against a towing company? So far I’ve paid out $844.10 to the tow company and roughly $600 for the mechanic to tell me what’s wrong and how it could have happened. I look forward to hearing from you. Hopefully we can get something out of them.

My car was towed on Feb 20th by ottawa Metro towing. Their driver damaged the outer tie rod while towing. I was only passing through ottawa from a trip in Quebec and stopped to see a friend. I was supposed to my driving back to Toronto the night of February 20th because I had work on February 21st. They offered to repair the car’s damage however I requested they tow the car to Toronto since it’s a lease car and should be taken care of by the dealer. They refused and said it either gets fixed by them or I can drive it off the property as is and it no longer becomes their problem. After lots of back and forth I decided to let them fix it since they said It would be fixed by morning. They told me to come at 7am the next morning. They did not provide a rent a car or accommodations even though I live in Toronto and had no where to stay. They did not reimburse for ***** or offer any solutions. I come the morning of Feb 21st at 9am instead of 7am so they have time to fix the car. I arrive and they said it was fixed but they ordered a replacement part which what unavailable everywhere in ottawa and it would arrive the following morning. They did not try to contact me and tell me this, I had to take an **** to find this out. I tried to explain that I could not wait another day and I needed them to be able to provide me with solutions to accommodate the wokr I was missing and that I do not live in ottawa and had no where to be. They refused to help and said that I had to wait for the replacement part to arrive the following day. I ask continuously asked for things in writing and they refused to provide any evidence. They are making me stay in town for two days to get this fixed and won’t let me fix it on my own means because they won’t cover it. They also won’t provide hotel accommodation or reimburse me for the ***** I used to get there. I have a voice recording of the behaviour of the buisness owner and his consistent refusal to talk to me. I just want to go back to work.

My car was towed by these guys on Sunday night. When I went to pick up the car my front lip was damaged. I went to them and said you guys damaged my front lip. They told me to go claim it from insurance and that they won’t do anything about it. My insurance won’t cover a $400 part as it’s not past the $500 deductible. Then the guy tell me “don’t drink and drive then” with a smile on his face. I was not convicted of a crime hence why my car was released the same day. He also tells me to prove they damaged the front lip. I have a lot of pictures showing what it looked liked before they towed it and if you see the picture it shows oil from the flat bed on my front lip showing it scraped and damaged from poor handling on the flat bed. I was also not the first to deal with this issue with these guys i have many messages from friends saying they had similar issues where their cars were damaged and were told to screw off by the business. How are these guys legally able to operate? Someone needs to stop these guys and revoke their licence.
