    I purchased a laser hair removal package from the business in the amount of $480 on February 20th 2023 to be used at a later date. I went away on a trip and the owner was going to be away *** ******* ******* so I wasn't planning to start services until April 2023. Owner closed up shop and moved over 2 hours round trip away at the beginning of April 2023. I requested a refund of the $480 because the new location is not within a reasonable distance for me to travel to and from appointments. Owner refused to issue my refund claiming that she didn't have the funds to refund back to me. *** ******** ** **** *** ***** ** * ****** *** **** *** ***** ******** ** *** ** ****** ******* *** *** ******** ** *** ****** *** ******** **** * *** ******** ***** This business advertises "packages" of services that they require you to pay in full in advance of any services being performed which is ********* to consumers. * ** ******* ** ***** * ****** ***** ** ******** ********** *** **** ** *********** **** *** ***** *** I would really like my $480 returned to me.

    Hello! Thank you for reaching out to me. 
    i am the owner of Skin Works Med Spa. 
    we were in Port Hope ON for two years and had very lovely clientele.

    Sadly our landlord needed our building for his own building and we were given very minimal days to get our things out and try and find a new location. 

    Our whole life savings were in that space and it was very heart breaking to have to leave it on such short notice and completely out of my control.. ** **** *** * ****** ** *** *** ***** *** *** ***** ** *** ***** ** **** *** ** ***** 

    ** *** *** *** ** ***** ************** *** ***** ***** **** *** ***** 

    each month we do a “monthly special” and ***** reached out to us to get one of those monthly specials. 

    no one forces anyone to purchase a special.. however.. if you would like to purchase the special .. yes it is paid upfront just like any other business making a sale. 

    once we found out we were going to be kicked out of our building. We had 7 days to try and find a new space.. we searched Port Hope .. however; there was nothing available. 

    we found a very nice spot in Ajax that we grabbed as fast as we could so we could tell our clients at least they had somewhere to go. 

    i have had businesses close before permanently and me not get a refund due to the business closing down. 

    my business is not closing down. We moved 32 mins from the previous location and we are more then happy for everyone to continue with their services! 

    all of our clients have been so so so lovely and have been doing the drive out here as laser hair removal clients only need to do the drive once every 6 weeks! 

    as you probably can see.. refunds are hard enough on a small business.. as when the money comes in.. it is normally gone within the day due to bills etc. 

    however, with my situation.. we lost our business.. lost clients.. and have had to re make a name for ourselves here. 

    ** *** ****** *********.. so no, refunds are not an option. ALSO. Posted all over the spa.. is “all sales are final” and no refunds are clearly stated on each client receipt.. website.. social media etc. 

     once again, i could have closed my doors due to the horrible thing that happened to us.. but I didn’t 

    i am allowing clients to come and use there services and fought for a space for my clients to come so that way i didnt have to shut my doors and tell them they were out of luck. 

    once every 6 weeks 30 mins from the last location i feel is pretty good.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I would not have purchased the package if I knew the business would be moving over an hour away from me. An extra 32 minutes changes my drive time from 35 minutes to 1 hr and 7 minutes, one way. Add traffic and I could be looking at 1.5 hours one way just in travel.

    There is no refund policy stating no refunds. 

    It is not feasible for me to travel to this location, in time, in money for gas and taking time off of work. The operating hours available don’t work with my work schedule taking into consideration the additional driving time to and from the new location.
