Valley Solar did install a solar array on our houses roof and on the barns roof. The three biggest problems are:

    1. From days one we have problems with arc faults (without an arc fault protection this could lead to a fire!!) and downtimes of up to 1 hour a day. Valley Solar tried to fix this issue but wasn’t able to. So I looked into it.
Turned out that almost all MC4 connectors (2 per panel + some at the rapid shutdown device) were installed in a very very bad way and not according to the manufacturer instructions. I spoke to the manufacturer and the way the MC4s are installed will significantly shorten the systems life, is a fire risk and will cause arc faults now and in the future.

Problem 2: We are getting ghosted.
Two weeks after the installation we noticed that there still wasn’t filled a building permit - even though we were told it was. So we called Valley Solar (****). No response, no callback and our calls went to the voicemail. However, once my wife called with her office number **** picked up. What a coincidence…
When we did hold back the payment we got some reaction and finally got the building permit filled.
After we found the problems mentioned in „Problem 1“, we didn’t hear back from Valley solar at all and **** (the owner) doesn't answer our calls.

    Problem 3:
After we noticed that the whole installation "smells fishy", I started to check if we actually got what we paid for. Nope! We ordered (and Valley Solar wanted us the remaining balance to pay for) 455w panels and git 450w panels delivered. 450w are way cheaper then the 455w panels. 5w/panel does sound insignificant but if you do the math you fill figure that we do loose almost 1000$ in revenue over the lifespan of the system.
We later heard form him that he doesn’t even have the 455w panels in stock - so why did he quote us for those panels? For me this is almost fraud!
We deducted the price difference of the 455w and 450w panels from the invoice - he seems to be ok with it.
