I just bought a 2009 ****** ** ************ from **** and was told before I bought the vehicle that, "absolutely nothing was wrong with vehicle - it's in great shape'. **** told me that he had been in the vehicle industry for 40 years, which lead me to believe his expertise and also trust him. I asked him at least 4 times if there was anything wrong with the car, and he reaffirmed several times that it was in great shape.

I got a safety certificate with the vehicle (good for 36 days) which claimed everything that the vehicle was in good working order.

Unfortunately, 4 days after purchasing the vehicle, there was smoke coming from the back and the battery and engine light came on. The smoke and smell was so bad, my 5 year told daughter was badly affected and I had to pull over. Also, the car's idling was way off after a few days. Also, the cabin lights inside the vehicle flicker on and off randomly and the car alarm for the car was coming on unexpectedly.

I took the car into *********** Motors (mechanic - great service, who I would recommend to everyone) and had them run several diagnostics and look over the vehicle for me.

They told me in their words, "This car should have passed a safety certification".

They found there was a short in a wire, near the battery, and that the battery monitoring console had gone out. Also, they found that the venting for the engine needed to be cleaned (to fix the horrible bad idling problem) and they also put a vent on the battery (which was not vented when the car was sold to me). The mechanic also told me that the spark plugs were extremely old and should be replaced.

As soon as I had issues with the car, I called **** and he didn't take my call or return it. I also emailed him as well, with no response. Last week I also popped a tire in the car (for no reason) and also found out the air conditioning system was out - both of which **** told me were good before I bought the car.
