We placed an order for drywall, 8 doors, 2x4's, insulation, which were all to be delivered and brought directly downstairs into our basement. While the two guys were delivering the materials into our basement, they damaged our walls, a stair and almost all of the drywall are damaged. One of the door frames is also damaged. When myself and my partner spoke with the manager separately, he took no responsibility for the damages stating he did my partner a favour by having 2 guys bring down the drywall and he should have never accepted the job. He is refusing to replace the damaged drywall, or take any responsibility for the damage in my home. This is unexpectable and bad business. We did not pay a large amount of money to have damaged materials.

Has stated by the plaintiff, I should have never accepted this delivery as the stairs to the basement were in a very awkward shape, unfortunately not mentioned when the order was placed by the customer. I was impossible to bring down the material in the basement without damaging the surrounding, in a timely manner. I had asked the customer to help my delivery guys as we are currently short staff and they (customer and his friend) brought down 1 sheet in the basement. The customer than stated that his friend had a sore back and couldn't help. The customer had to remove part of the railing going down to sort of facilitate the delivery.. He also offered to make a hole in the wall but would have not worked as the opening would have been in the middle of the landing, not giving enough clearance. The damage on the wall is on an unfinished wall. When it came to bring the door down, the customer and his frined had left the premises leaving my delivery guys all alone. I did apologize to the husband to then receive a call from the wife momentarily asking for compensation which I denied as the customer was aware of the difficulty of this delivery.
