  • Advertising Review:

On January 8, 2024, BBB contacted the business regarding claims made on its website and online advertising and requested they be substantiated, modified, or discontinued.

The business advertises “we offer early bird discounts, “Unlimited Revisions for a Limited Time!” and “take advantage of this offer before it’s gone” on their website. BBB’s Code of Advertising states that sales should only last for a limited period of time. BBB was unable to locate an expiry date on these offers.

We have noticed the business is displaying logos for multiple Booksellers as well as indicating selling in these stores. It appears they are implying a partnership with these businesses. They also mention Amazon and their programs on multiple occasions. BBB has requested confirm regarding their association with these businesses.

The business advertises a “Guarantees” throughout their website; however, BBB could not locate any details or where these guarantees could be viewed. BBB’s Code of Advertising states, when using the term “guarantee” the advertiser should clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the guarantee can be seen prior to the sale.

BBB requested substantiation for several claims, which include:

    "We’ve assisted hundreds of authors"
"these ebooks have helped their authors gain recognition on major news and lifestyle platforms"
    "free from errors"
    ""

“expertise of a former Big-5 publishing acquisitions editor”

“Your book will receive the same meticulous scrutiny and polish as a New York Times Bestseller”

“with experience crafting lyrics for some of the industry’s top artists”

    “placements in leading publications”

    “connections with influential figures”

“We can help you publish your book across all major online platforms”

“top-tier storytellers and and industry professionals”

“We’ve published hundreds of books, many of which have become Bestsellers”

“Our action writers are renowned for delivering top-notched work in their field”

“Get #1 Rank For Your Ebook”

“Achieve the #1 Position on Google”

“we have a proven track record of delivering outstanding book review and consulting services”

BBB attempted to substantiate these claims independently but were not successful. BBB’s Code of Advertising states that advertisers have a responsibility to possess substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.

The business has made such claims:

    “The premier choice”

“Top Non Fiction Ghostwriters in the Industry”

    “Top Ghostwriters”

    “#1 rated team”

    “Top-Tier Editorial Oversight”

    “delivering top-tier music”

    “top-tier storytellers and industry professionals”

    “We are the top choice”

“Our action writers are renowned for delivering top-notched work in their field”

“Our ghostwriter services stand out as the premier choice”

Superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. BBB requested substantiation of these claims.

    We see the claims:

    “offering unmatched expertise”

“Unlike others, we seamlessly blend faith with literature”

“Unlike dealing with agents, you won’t have to worry about dealing with any middleman fees”

    “Unlike large book publishing companies”

    “unlike traditional publishing houses”

“Unlike other book marketing companies, our commitment ensures that your name gains significant recognition within the industry”

“Other companies typically apply a generic template to all their authors”

“Many publishing company prioritize merely getting authors I the door”

“Canadian Ghost Writing stands unmatched in experience and longevity”

“no other publishing company boasting a comparable track record”

“Many publishers opt to send their production work overseas to reduce costs”

“offering unmatched expertise in crafting compelling naratives”

According to the BBB Code of Advertising, businesses must not deceptively or falsely disparage a competitor or competing products or services in their advertising. BBB has requested substantiation of this claims.

BBB requested substantiation for several claims, which include“award winning authors across diverse genres" and “writers who have achieved #1 New York Times Best Sellers status”. BBB attempted to substantiate these claims independently but were not successful. BBB’s Code of Advertising states that advertisers have a responsibility to possess substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.

We noticed that the business is using Canadian Ghost Writers in the third party along with the names Ebook Publishers LLC, CGW, Dorrance (project coordinator and imprint)  on their website. We have also noted the uniformity in the wording content on their website and Ebook Publishers LLC. BBB has requested clarification as to their relationship and these other companies.

The business advertises “with over a century of experience, we are the oldest book publishing service in the country” however, its Corporation documents indicate a start date of June 21, 2024.

While the business was initially responsive to our requests, the business has since failed to make the requested modifications and has not provided substantiation for the advertised claims.
