      We moved on September 26th, locally in Burlington. The move started fairly well, runners, were put on the stairs and in some area of the house.Unfortunately the runner on the staircase to the basement was not extended fully, so it was still partly rolled up. My husband caught his foot going down to the basement and fell (from the 4th step from the bottom of the stairs,) onto his hands and knees. Luckily I was downstairs at the time to help him up, he could hardly walk, and was shaken up. Following the fall he experienced chest pain, so I drove him to the ******** Hospital. I explained to the man in charge, what had happened and that I would be back as soon as I could. My husband's leg and ankle were painful and swollen for a long time, due to a fall that did not have to happen if the runners had been placed properly.
      When I returned to the house, after the hospital, I noticed that a chair that was for donation, was no longer in the garage. I went to advise the man in charge that the upholstered chair was staying at the house, he replied, "I am taking it" I was surprised, but thought my husband was probably aware. As it turns out he just assumed he could take it, never asked either of us.
      Once the truck was packed , Tim came to me and said" I don't know if you are aware but we accept tips. I was quite shocked, first, that he would ask for a tip, and before the job was completed ! I waited 35 min for the movers to arrive, time we were paying them for, no explanation where they went.After they arrived I explained to them that there was a locker on the garage level, where they were entering, and certain things would go in there. The driver said to me" well you better be sure, when you tell us where things go. if something goes upstairs and it was suppose to go in the locker, it is not coming back down. Great attitude, there was only ONE of me. He had no consideration of the added stress I was under with my husband in hospital.
      Came the time to pay, the price was much higher than the estimate of $1700.00, new total was $2915.40 . I told him that it was a big difference, he said "your other place was big and so is this one". The quote was also based on 3 bedrooms and they only moved 2, as we had emptied one of all furniture, which included a queen size bed. He also said they had to pack some of the clothes from the walking closet, when I went to the hospital.What they did is, threw shoes, belts, and neckties in the bottom of wardrobes.All in all I believe we were overcharged, for substandard service. Even after making it clear that I thought this was too much of a difference from the quote, he again asked for a tip, I gave in , as I wanted to go to the hospital and be done with the move. He questioned the amount of &100.00, suggested $100-$200 per person!!! I added $100.00 to the bill, he grabbed his copy and left visibly angry,

      I would describe this move as a nightmare. We have moved 12 to 14 times , both long distance, Vancouver to Toronto and back, cross border and locally, so not new to the process.
      The man in charge,*** *** ** ****** ** ********* not an asset to Atlas . Unfortunately he has a very noticeable limp, moving is possibly the wrong job for him.
      The significant difference between the quote and the end result as never been explained. We reached out to Kerry C. ,who did the quote, he could not explain it, e-mailed ***** *** ***** in ********, no acknowledgement , left 2 messages at that same office, at their complaint department, nothing. I believe they do not care, which is why I am reaching out to you.
      I hope that you will be able to help with this situation. ***** *** ***** is also associated with Aeroplan, and we had asked for the points which we were entitled to. We have yet to get any reply about that inquiry as well.

      *** * **** ******* were charged for the actual time it took to complete their move.  I have Mrs. *******'s signature that "all goods received in good order, time and charges are correct.  I also have her signature,  'The actual time taken to complete the job determines the actual charges."

      As both Mr. & Mrs. were not available to be present for the entire move their was no one there to direct the crew.  The move did go over the estimate of $2,067.90 as the destination apartment was a long carry down the hallway, and quite a distance from were we could park our truck.  

      Tipping the crew is at the customers pleasure and is not encouraged by the Company.

      We only charge for the hours we work to complete the relocation.
