My ***** and I went to stay at this hotel when we came to ******* for a weekend trip. We paid for a room upon arrival and got a room with two double beds on the fourth floor. Room 424 to be exact. We went into the room and the place was run down. Looked like it could use a renovation. The bathroom vent was hanging by a thread, looked like it was about to fall on our heads. We were planning to possibly find another hotel, mainly for the fact we wanted one closer to the east end of town. Aside from that, about 15 minutes later from check in, we were about to leave when I forgot my charger for my phone, so I continued back into my room. Before arrival to my room, I noticed a scratching sound coming from the ceiling. I then noticed a hole in the ceiling right outside my room that had a *****'s bag stuffed in it, and I saw a rat. I was immediately freaked out and told my ***** and wanted to leave. It was also uncomforting to know there was exposure in our bathroom leading outside. So, we went to the front desk and informed them that we wanted to cancel our stay because we wanted to find something closer to the east end. I wasn't going to mention what I saw because I did not want to embarrass him. He refused to refund because, "We were present in the hotel for far too long to refund". We weren't even in the hotel for an hour. So, I waited until the other guests left the lobby and informed him of my findings. He did not believe us, thinking we were making up excuses. I had video evidence that proved there was a rat in the ceiling, but he refused to look at it. The video contained a view of the hole in the ceiling, and you could hear it running around up there, picking at the bag stuffed in the ceiling. He informed us we would have to speak with the manager about a refund. My friend called and he accused us of lying because we were just teenagers. I found this comment unnecessary and unprofessional. I hope this business does not do this to anyone else, I pray for the best.

This review is not based on any true facts. No one at the hotel accused any guest of lying. As the general manager, the only person that we spoke to after the guest left the hotel as a women, who used her position as a police officer (un-confirmed) to threaten and intimidate the staff and myself. Not ones did I have a opportunity to speak to the guest directly. Also, no evidence was produced to any staff, including myself. This room and the hallway was fully inspected and found no issues as reported. I would welcome the chance to see this video an take action needed.
