For several years I have been a full member of the club, and as well docked/stored my boat at the club Last year, 2022-23 season, due to poor dock quality, I applied and was accepted as an ASSOCIATE member, and the club accepted my $165+HST fee. (I did not want to dock, as my elderly father fell through a board in dock). This Associate membership allowed me to attend events, and visit the other members at the club. All during last season I stopped getting Board Meeting Minutes, and NONE were posted on their private website.I was just informed today that the club is stopping sending out info to associate members. (like me)None the less, I paid my 165+HST, it was accepted, and hours later, I got ANOTHER bill for a slip, even though I did not have one last year.I emailed March12th, 8:42 and 8:43am, saying I did not need a boat slip, nor did I have one the previous season. No reply I contacted other members, and was told that the club is trying to remove associate members, and thus forcing them to purchase a slip. If you do not purchase a slip, then they will say your in arrears, and cannot enter the property.I was NEVER informed of this new policy, and also was told that many decisions at the club were done against our by-laws (making decisions without quorum ) I emailed that if I am required to purchase a slip, I do not want to, and want a refund of my associate membership, as I WAS NEVER INFORMED as to all these new policies, they were not posted in their ******** members site, not on their website. In fact they still are posting on their website the associate membership forms. My resolution would be to refund my associate membership fee and HST, as I was not at all informed of these new policies, and cannot find any mention of it any of the websites, and no email or phone calls were made to inform **** will take my refund. $169.50 CONTACT at the club :1) ******************* 2) ******************* 3) *********************

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: 21427171

I am rejecting this response because:

    1) the club admitted to be in error in writing.

    2) The docks were in disrepair (see attached document and note by *******************). Last time docks were stained were done by ME in 2021.

    3) Money was paid PRIOR to start of boating season... in error of the club.  (Boat drop day is *** 4th/Start or the season)

    4) Since the season has not even started as of the complaint, a refund should be given. (Season starts on *** 4th)

    5) It is no excuse that the commodore lost all his board members, and is now making mistakes. This is their problem not mine.

    6) ******** offered to do NOTHING.. just allow me to pay additional money to be an associate member

    7) NOT ONCE, NOT EVER did they indicate the fees are going up. As of my complaint even the website had the original fees. ******** accepted my payment in full.

My Final offer is a full refund of the bill that was in error by the club,  as this club's year has not even started. Club opens *** 4th.Boats drop on *** 4th.

    Sincerely,
