As part of the contract the LEAP representative indicated that they would be transitioning the data from my current software to the LEAP software. When the data was transitioned in was done in such a way as to render the LEAP software disfunctional. When this was brought to the transition teams attention they said that this was my firm's problem and that my firm would have to go through years of data to make the sofware functional. This was not what was represented to me when I signed the contract. The person that sold me the software misrepresented to me that the LEAP transition team would guide my firm through the process and there would be minimal downtime. This is completely false. The LEAP transition team did not provide any information on what was to be expected in the transition. They called me up on day of the data migration and told me with less than 24 hours notice that we could not use our current practice management software because they would be mining the data that day. There was no warning. They also randomly booked software training that was supposed to be training on my own database. However, they could not use my database so they tried to do the training on their own databases and, with full knowledge that I did not have a functioning database, tried to get my firm to sign off on the database. When I tried to resolve this issue directly with them they pointed to an obsure term in the contract that says "Trust Transactions associated to a Client only will have a correspodning "administrative matter created containing the opening balance belonging to the Client" However, no where in this clause does it say that this will render the software unusable until they are combined and that my law firm is responsible for combining the matters. In addition to this, the correspondence that was sent to me indicating that they were essentially leaving me with a software database that is unusable was sent to me on Family Day. Horrible organization to deal with.
