    Adept Services has done great work for the renovations at our bakery. They demolished several walls, did an opening in an existing one, installed new floor tiles. They were very accommodating with our store hours and employees working at the same time, they protected with plastic film all areas where they were working to limit dust. I would like to add that they are unusually respectful and clean...a breath of fresh air, everyone appreciated their politeness and their kindness. We are very happy with the work they have done for us and will not hesitate to ask them again, actually, we did and it is spotless. *****

    Commitments not followed through on but the worst part about this experience is that the Owner Stephen made his employee hold our keys to our home hostage. She kept them in her pocket and refused to give them to us. Stephan comes off as nice in the beginning but be WARNED! To start off - they came to the job site hours late. Unprepared! no dolly, no tarps. 3 days in and still hadn't completed demo to remove flooring of a very small area. We had to continually push them to get experienced man power - we had to tell them to use a skill saw to remove the old floors they kept promising but they NEVER met any of they're own timeframes. They couldn't even determine how long it would take to complete each task. They blamed some stuff on our building but I talked to her and she had a totally different story. Not to mention how dirty everything was left on a daily basis. They put our furniture on saw dust and didn't take any care in protecting it. Numerous times I had to place the tarps back on the furniture that I went out to purchase. The employee removing the old flooring didn't know he could remove the old plastic and again left it with all saw dust and placed our furniture on top of it and he kept placing his tools on our furniture. None of workers had safety gear - no safety glasses, nothing to cut the flooring on - used they're leg. ******* ************** *** super dangerous but no supervisor was on site and the PM didn't supply them with anything! We were told that the baseboards would come finished but this is not true they were filled with caulking - seams were awful, they left nails sticking out of them, they glued together short pieces, left tape and glue on the floor. When they said 'they were finished' - they weren't. Stephan made it sound like he was doing us a favor when they changed the baseboards to exclude 1/4 round but it should have been installed. Not only did we need to get this done we had to paint the baseboards and hire a cleaning crew.

    We disagree with this review posted by ***** (the sister of the condo owner).
    First, this is an insurance job where the homeowner and her husband (not the reviewer) were not occupying the condo during the renovation. Secondly, because we were working in a condo, cutting had to be done within the unit. However, this flooring is vinyl plank and doesn’t generate as much dust as regular laminate floors do. Further, we addressed all housekeeping issues during the project including covering all furniture with plastic, and the completed job was handed over swept, vacuumed and swiffered. Thirdly, we would like to mention, free upgrades were provided while keeping the project within the fixed price that was agreed upon by the insurance company. These free upgrades were provided to improve the build quality. For example, quarter round is only needed to hide gaps from floor installation. If the gaps are not wider than the baseboard thickness then adding quarter round only reduces your floor square footage and has no esthetic value. Our professional installation had reduced gaps. Therefore, we upgraded the baseboards to a more expensive one to eliminate the need for quarter round. This change was documented and absorbed by us so that the final product would look more upscale. Important to mention is that during the walk through after, we took note of any issues brought to our attention by the reviewer and her sister (the condo owner) and took care of them within the next 3 business days. With regard to the threshold in question, although the reviewer makes it sound like it is currently unresolved this is not true. We completed the adjustment within 3 business days of receiving their response of availability, which is what we do with all warranty issues. We then did another walk through to make sure that the owner (the reviewer's sister) was happy with the final product, which she was. Finally, this work was completed safely, within the contracted time and on budget. Lastly, we offer and honour our warranty, so if there’s anything further to be done, they can give us a call.
