I hired A-1 General Contracting Services owned by **** ****** ********* in June 2024 to repair some lose tiles in my master bathroom. At this time, he indicated that after paying a deposit, he would schedule date to do the work for me. He also assured me that he would make sure the work was done properly, and that he would not leave for another job until complete. His deposit was $900. Between June 27 and July 4, I paid him a combined deposit of $917.00 The work was originally supposed to start on July 8 of this year. However, per our condo renovation agreement Mr. ********* was advised to bring in a licensed plumber by our property management ************************** Mr. ********* spent over a month trying to find a plumber as he was busy working on other jobs. It was then agreed that he would start his work on August 26th. Due to a building water shut off that day, the start date was moved to 9 September 2024. Mr. ********* did not do much work that day, apart from removing vanity and opening whole in the wall so plumber could install shut off valves. Mr. ********* left after a couple of hours and did not return until 2 days later when I was at my main office for work. He worked a couple of hours and then left for the day. The next day, he did little work as he was busy talking with my cleaning person. On Sept 14th, 2024, he returned in the morning to complete tile repair and put vanity back in place so I could have that washroom to use. He did not close up the building plumbing before doing so and demanded the remainder of his payment in full. He mentioned he was coming back on 20 Sept, then 21 Sept, then the week of 14 October to do so. He did not and is avoiding talking to me. I found out online recently that he has had other clients he has done this too as well. I now have hired someone else to finish his work.
