      * *** ***** *********** ** at the East York Location by the Regional Manager who was very **** to me. There was a minimal amount of dog hair in the vehicle and they charged me for a full service cleaning at $280.00. That's an outrageous amount. They need to let their customers know "no dogs allowed" while booking the car and not have you sign a small screen without seeing the document/contract. * ******* ****** ********  Not renting from them again. **** **** ******** **** ***** **** *** **********

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify our policies.

At Advantage Car & Truck Rentals, we strive to accommodate all our customers’ needs including allowing pets in our vehicles, as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was rented. Our rental agreement, which every customer signs electronically during the rental process, clearly states that vehicles must be returned clean and free of excessive dirt, debris, or pet hair. It also outlines that any required excessive cleaning may result in additional charges.

In your case, the vehicle was returned with a substantial amount of dog hair throughout the interior, beyond what is considered normal wear and tear. Due to the extent of the mess, the vehicle required professional detailing to restore it to a rentable condition for our next customer. All supporting photos and documentation were shared with you as part of our transparent process.

We understand $280 may seem high, but this reflects the actual cost incurred for a full interior detailing service necessary to meet our cleanliness standards. This is not a fee we apply lightly, it is only used when absolutely necessary to maintain the quality of service expected by all renters.

Regarding your comment about the contract, the rental agreement is available to review before signing, and our team is happy to explain any terms at the time of rental. We also encourage customers to ask questions if any part of the agreement is unclear.

We regret that you feel this way and hope this clarifies the rationale behind the charge. Our aim is never to "take advantage" of anyone, but rather to enforce fair and consistent policies that protect all customers and ensure a clean and reliable rental experience.

      Sincerely,

      Advantage Car & Truck Rentals

I was a loyal customer having rented dozens of times over the last few years. I'd been willing to look past things in the past (including being given a car where the front bumper was being held on by duct tape) because their prices were so good, but after my last rental I will never be returning. I returned the rental after hours on a Sunday evening, and I was not aware of any damage to the vehicle. Later that night I received my final invoice and inspection report with no issue. But first thing Monday morning, they were blowing up my phone insisting that there was damage to the car and that they were going to charge my credit card $500, despite the fact that the pre-authorized damage deposit was only $350. I asked every employee I spoke to where this charge was agreed to in the rental agreement and no one could show me. They put this $500 charge through anyways before I even had any documentation of the "damage". I had to call them for this again and was only texted two photos of a scratched bumper from an unknown number. So at this point, my credit card had been charged a seemingly random amount and I didn't even have the documentation I needed to open an insurance claim. After calling and speaking to the manager Lil again, I finally received proper documentation. I was then transferred to claims manager ***** *********, who like every employee I spoke to, tried to pressure me into signing an accident report stating I was at fault for the damage because "my insurance company would require it" (they didn't and said it was good that I didn't sign). Despite *** having admitted how poorly this was handled, ***** was **** and patronizing and even accused me of ***** about the damage. I asked to speak to someone at head office about this treatment, but two emails to ****** ****** went unanswered. My insurance covered the entire outrageous amount that Advantage charged me so it's no loss to me, but I will never return to Advantage *** ***** ****** ****** ** **** *****
