    On September 12, 2022 we approved an order for windows in the amount of $2,506.71. We paid 50% as a deposit with the order and were advised they would arrive in 6 weeks.
    In late October we were advised the d**ivery date had changed to November 14, 2022.
    On November 24 I was advised by the administrator that “they have been working on it.” No d**ivery date was provided.
    On December 3rd I sent a final inquiry requesting an update and commitment to getting our windows. To date, we have not received so much as an acknowledgment of that email. It was addressed to all the officers of the company including;
    ****** **** - Co-Owner
    **** ******** - Co-Owner

    Today is December 19, 2022 and it has been 14 weeks since we were told it would take 6 weeks to receive these windows and made our order. These windows are being waited upon to complete a renovation project on a rental house that is currently boarded up and loosing money every day. We originally had a tenant slotted to move in on November 1st at a rental rate of $1,650 per month. They have had to make alternative arrangements for the passed 2 months for their family while we have lost $3,300 in rental income while this unit sits empty. We were forced to reschedule our installer and absorb a cost associated to that as he was booked to complete the installation the last week of October. We have not been able to reschedule him due to the lack of information being provided to us by the supplier.
    At this point we are concerned that we have been stolen from, not just the 50% deposit on the windows but also the months of lost revenue this business has, and will continue to, cost us until we get the windows we need.

    I'm sending this as a follow up to the complaint that I filed on December 18/19 (#18609079) against Great Lakes Doors and Windows.  All the details were included in the filed complaint so I won't bore you with those again.  I did want to share with you what has happened since that time so that if there is anything you can do to protect future prospective clients you can.

    - After filing with the BBB I had heard or received no information from the Vendor
    - On December 21 I reached out to the local police department seeking some directive on how we should proceed.
    - Around 11:30 a.m. that same day an officer called me for specifics and indicated that they were going to call the owners of Great Lake Windows & Doors and see if he could get any further information for us.
    - At 12:01 p.m. we received our first communication from Paul, a co-owner of the company, that was very cold indicating that there is a supply issue, it is not their problem so they will refund the money we gave them for our order on September 4, but that will not happen until January 15.  He signed off by advising us that if this was not satisfactory that legal avenues were available for us to pursue.
    - My response to that email was that first off, we've been waiting 4 months and would much rather have a commitment to getting our product than getting our money back.  After speaking to other vendors of these products we have learned that 10-12 weeks is the industry standard that we would have to wait for a new order of windows if we ordered them now **sewhere.  This would mean that we will have been waiting 7 months for windows, with a house that can not be rented because it is currently boarded up.  Alternativ**y, I requested some confirmation as to when his supplier has indicated we could expect to see these windows.  The second concern we have is that if we order alternative windows with a different vendor we will have to pay for them again now in order to get the order in, but then trust that Great Lakes Windows will do what they said they would on January 15 and return our money.  They haven't done anything to earn our trust so now I fe** like there is no lik**ihood that our money will be returned.
    - On Friday, December 23 I sent **** and his partner, Thomas, one last email asking for their empathy in this situation, and requested that they simply advise us as to when their supplier is suggesting our order may be filled at this point.  After 4 months I find it impossible to b**ieve that they don't have an ETA if the order was in fact ever placed.  Paul, nor anyone from their administration team, has had the decency to acknowledge the inconvenience this has caused us, the incredible expense we are incurring as a result of these d**ays, or a willingness to work through this together to find a satisfactory resolve.

    This house is costing us to sit empty as we are not just losing the $1,650 per month in rental income, we are paying mortgage, taxes and all the utilities during this period of vacancy.  Per the promises that this supplier made to me prior to ordering, these windows should have been installed in October and the unit rented as of November 1.  It would appear that their solution is we canc** our order, get our money back and start the process over somewhere **se and wait another 3-4 months before getting the house rented again.

    We will certainly do what we have to but at the moment I'm hopeful that we can do it without having to pay for a lawyer's assistance (which could quickly double our losses here).  If there is anything the BBB can do to assist us in getting a more reasonable resolve with this business we would greatly appreciate it.  If you are not, then all we can ask is that you do everything in your power to protect consumers like ours**ves from getting so financially burdened in the future.

    Thank you for any and all of your time and energy directed toward this matter.
    Kindly,
