I gave completed paperwork as he requested one day before to file ******** income tax. I went the next day as I was told, and Mr. ****** told me that he worked on it for 14 hours and my return was $941 **, I told him that can't be right, did you go through it properly? he said I have 17 years experienced. I asked him not to file it and asked him to print out and give it to me which he declined. I asked him to delete all my personal information then if you do not want to give me a look at what you had worked on for the last 14 hours. He refused by stating my information belongs to him and that is his proof. Knowing he has immigration office, I do not want him to use it as an example for my personal information store in his computer or in his business. I went to another place and did my 2023 tax return. My return was 7x what he claimed I was getting. He filed my 2022 income tax last year with the ******** IRS. I gave him all my completed 2022 *** income tax return to file for the ******** IRS. However, the ******** IRS did not receive any paperwork that ************** gave me. My income tax return was $5000 USD last year. However, recently I received a letter from the ******** IRS stating to pay ****** CAD. If *************************** did not include income tax statements done in the ** to the ******** IRS. The emotional distress that I am in is beyond any one can imagine. I am trying to fix what *************************** mistakes and unprofessional acts. Not only does he not know what he is doing, he is also trying to con me. I would like for him to delete my personal information from his data, computer and his office. I do not want my personal information including my social security numbers to fall on the wrong people. He needs more schooling to do in terms of filing income tax. Especially in my case, my *** return was completely given to him. It was done within ************************************** the number and scan, send it to ******** IRS. I want him to put it in writing.

    RE: ID ********
    2024/04/11

    Dear *************;
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your letter mailed to us on April 5, 2024.
I would like to thank BBB and our client for raising the concern.Assigned ID ********.
Our client in complaint has been with us for over 5 years without any issue, and our office always took care of her tax needs. I am surprised by the complaint as we have always had a good relationship with the client. Had the client addressed any concern in person with us, the problem could have been avoided. Also, through the years of service, we have not charged our client any additional fee for work done for audit purposes. Also, we did not charge for 2023 despite spending time with the client., at this point client asked us to cancel 2023 which we did.

    Cancelling the files:
As per our client request, we have deleted all information related to our client in concern. As of this day we have no record of our clients name mentioned in the complaint. Please consider this letter as proof of deleting all information (as per client request)

    Explanation why we keep records:
We keep records to comply with *** regulations and to help our clients in case of an audit.
Since our client requested to delete all information, we will consider the complaint as waive of information right since our client demanded the request.
Explanation regarding 2022 income tax. /Audit
We have processed the return with *** and filed the return on time.  Recently *** has been aggressively auditing foreign income. Once a client receives a request for an audit with ***, the client will receive a letter (called review letter) asking for proof of foreign tax credit. The client then must provide the following information:
1-Account transcript. Copy of Account transcript from *******. Which is copy like Notice of assessment here in ******, the *** mail this copy upon filing; however, in the ** the client must requested from the **** (it given only upon request)
2-Copy of State return stamped by the state.
    3-Copy of W2 (which is like T4 in ******)
4-Additional information may also be needed, like form T2209, and RC268.

Items 1,2,3 can be obtained ONLY by the client from the foreign government, which in our case is ******* (IRS)
Item 4 can be provided by the accountant. (which is included in E-file)

    Misconceptions & False information
In ******, we dont call Revenue ****** (******** IRS), we call it *** ,
The fact I spent 14 hours on the return, which is not true.
Client keeps mixing *** with IRS
Client claiming that I did not send the 2022 return to ***, which is false.
When we file the ******** return, we do it via E-file, and when we do E-file, we get confirmation, at this point we dont send documents to ***.

    *** Position:
If a client doesnt provide the supporting document within a certain time frame, then *** will reverse all foreign credit and the client may get reassessed with an amount owing.
I am providing all this explanation so the client can be aware of the *** policy, and the return filed by our office done professionally and accurately.
I hope this explanation clarifies the issue and satisfies our dear clients concern. It was my pleasure working with our client, we wish her all the best in her future.

Finally, I would like to thank BBB for giving me the opportunity to tell my side of the story. I also request BBB to remove any inappropriate language used in the complaint. Where I spot multiple offensive words like calling me unprofessional, tried to con me, needs more schooling, and other defamation.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Accutax
