I had this company come to cut down a tree and remove the *****. They came one day and cut down the tree and the next day they came to take out the *****. The day after that I discovered the lid to the sewer pipe sitting on top of the cable box. My neighbour said it was critical to have the lid on the pipe, The city came to find the pipe - they dug around to find it and we discovered that it had been cut along with the lid. The city said it was a fresh cut not an old one. If this problem isn't fixed we could have a flood in the basement from the backup.. The city cleaned out the pipe as the company had filled the hole with dirt which went down into the pipe. Called the company numerous times. A day and a half later the owner called He then proceeded to yell and swear at me denying that his people did this.. It is so obvious they did cause the problem. Now I have a plumber coming to fix the pipe which will cost me ******. This company should pay for the plumber as they created the problem.Business Response

From *********************, Owner:
We provided an estimate for ************************* on May 27, 2024 which she approved. She wanted the work done as soon as possible. We were scheduling for the week of June 10 14 but completed her tree removal and ***** grinding earlier to accommodate her request. The tree removal was done on June 3rd with the ***** grinding on June 4th.
On June 6th, ****** called our office to say that she had a ***** ground out yesterday and found a sewer cap on top of her cable box today. She wanted the ***** grinder operator to tell her where it came from. We said wed have to look into it and get back to her.
****** called again the morning of June 7th upset that she had not heard back. Our office staff noted her raised voice and that she seemed very angry. ****** said that her house would flood if something wasnt done right away. Our office staff explained that we had been busy with storm calls and wanted to connect with the staff who did her work before addressing the is***.
She called again the afternoon of June 7th. She was upset that she hadnt heard back yet. Our office staff explained that the ***** grinder operator was still off-site, that we didnt have a chance to speak to him yet, and that our notes didnt have any record of damage. She became very irate, yelling What are you going to do about this? Fix it now! Your guy cut the lid on the sewer pipe then filled it with dirt to cover it up. If my basement floods, I will be suing you. We said we would have to look into it and would get back to her by the end of the day.
The office staff relayed the situation to me. I called ****** the afternoon of June 7th. She was very upset, yelling and swearing, calling my staff liars, and telling me she was going to *** ************* said that my staff caused damage then tried to hide it. I said that was nonsense. The cap that was found by the ***** grinder operator was removed from the debris and set aside on a box. (Note: When the ***** grinder is grinding a *****, the operator is not standing over the *****. He stands back so out of the way of flying debris as the machine flings dirt and woodchips. It is not uncommon to find buried items while grinding.)
I asked her why she didnt tell us there was a sewer pipe near the ***** when she booked the job. She said didnt know. I explained that sewer pipe washouts are not shown when utility locates are requested so we dont have that information unless it is provided by the homeowner.
****** said she found the cap and had municipal staff come out to find the pipe and clean it out. I told her that was good and I was glad she looked after that. She started going on again about how she was going to *** me and how she had to wait 3 days for me to get back to her.
I asked her why she was waiting for me. I provide tree services; Im not a plumber. I told her she needs a plumber. She went off, yelling and swearing again about how I needed to get the plumber not her because we broke it.
I told her we have been in business for almost 25 years and run 5 crews. If we break something, we fix it. I told her it was a washout pipe. Have a plumber re-cut the top of the pipe and put the cap back on a simple, small fix. I told her I didnt know it was there; you didnt know it was there. Get a plumber out and get it fixed. Depending on the cost, I will pay for it or split it with you.
The bill came in and it was very small. We had a cheque printed to cover the cost for her when we got a notification from ****** that she had posted a nasty review. I was able to stop the cheque before it went out in the mail. We will not be helping to pay for anything with that nonsense.
If she wants to change it and apologize, I will re-look at it.Customer Answer

Most of what that man said was total lies
he was the one yelling and swearing using the * work
I was upset u nderstandblly and let h m know
I did not keep telling him I would sue
Yes I posted something on ****** as I thought people should know what kind of business they run - totally unprofessional
I have been told by several people that th is company has always been problematic
Yes they should pay for the the plumber as it was their fault
The folks from the city said it was a fresh cut not an old one
I did not call his people liars - he used that word
cannot believe how he has twisted things around to suit himself

I'm sorry, I forget to say a couple of things
Aside from all the lies he told you, he had no intention of paying the plumber's bill
He made that clear on the phone
All he had to was accept responsibility for the actions of his workers, pay the plumber and I would not have posted anything on ****** or contacted you
He said the plumber's bill was little, but for a retiree on a limited income it is a lot of money that I should not have h ad to pay
I may have said once, that I would *** if my basement flooded - but only the one time
As I said before, I did not yell or scream or swear - that was all him

In the interest of a resolution, Wyoming Tree Service has paid the plumbing invoice (July 6, 2024 Payment Reference # CAPCfmzb) despite the fact that Wyoming Tree Service has no obligation to under the terms and conditions agreed to by **************** when she approved the estimate via email May 27, 2024 (copy of approval and estimate attached note Item # 6 under Terms & Conditions). Due to **************** verbal abuse of multiple staff in our office, her threats, her defamatory comments online and her lack of accountability for the aforementioned, Wyoming Tree Service requests that **************** does not contact their office again.Customer Answer
