I recently had a service done by Hearth and Ember in Kensington PEI. The service was done on May 26th, 2023 and they sent me the invoice for the service May 31st, 2023. They were at my place for 5 minutes to do an inspection on my wood stove and charged me $500 +HST. That price seems very considering they didn't do anything with my wood stove and I will see need to pay them $500-$1000 to do the work to get my wood stove insurable. I don't know what to do. I just feel as though that is a rip off and a con. I did pay them in full on June 1st, 2023 with credit card over the phone. I just think that this price is way too high for the lack of service provided. They never tried to resolve this issue and said that that is what they charge because of the fee that they had to pay for the business to get the license to inspections and how doing WETT inspections are an inconvenience to them as they have to have a worker leave the business to do it. I live about 7 mins away from the business location, so they didn't have to travel far to do the inspection on my stove.
