    I took my new cat, Evie, who is now 8 months old, to PreZoomably Cats, at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024. I had requested an appointment online some weeks previously, specifying that I wanted her to be seen by an experienced certified groomer as it was to be her first visit. The business selected the time and date, although that put us outside the "window" in which adopted kittens would be treated at 50% discount. I received 3 reminders online! We were on time for the appointment and I was told that I would be contacted on my cell-phone when she was ready, in 1 to 1.5 hours' time. I was phoned just before 3:00 pm and drove straight up to collect her. The reception area was quite dark and Evie was already in her carrier in a recess beside the reception desk when I arrived, to be greeted by a man whom I had not met before. He told me that Evie had a "small red spot on her head." It was not until I got her home and let her out of the carrier in my sunny living room that I saw the injury. She had a large reddish-purple hematoma above the left eye, and was very lethargic, so I put her on head-injury protocol, after I had taken photographs and e-mailed the business, which did not reply until the next morning, when they requested to see the photographs. The groomer phoned me that morning, stating that she had put my cat into a drier-box which was used for kittens. I asked if there were any projections on which my cat could have struck her head and was told "No! It's just metal inside.." She said that she had then taken the cat out of the box and dried her in the usual way. I was offered "a free groom next time", but I am NEVER taking any animal back to that business. * *** **** **** **** * ** ****** **** *** ****** ******** ******* * ***** **** **** ****** ** ******** ** **** ** *** **** **** ** *** *** ******* *****. I used to take my previous cat, a very grumpy long-haired geriatric animal there, and had no problems.
