    Nature of dispute: destruction of property (basketball net). Looking for business to cover part of expense for replacement.
    Contacted business March 31st after no call received despite initial complaint on March 5th. Image requested from business. Provided, and had to reach out again April 7th because business was not responding. Business committed to attending residence and viewing damage twice in week of April 10th to 14th. No show. No contact from business despite repeated phone calls and text messages since April 13th to submission of this request.

    On Sept 24, 2022, Abstract Moving and Delivery from Saskatoon delivered furniture, which I paid $6,000 for, to my home. The furniture consisted of a dinette hutch, dining table with 2 extensions and 6 chairs, 2 coffee tables, 2 end tables, a bedside table and an area carpet.
    The furniture was in perfect condition at the store, and almost every piece delivered to my home was damaged. The 2 table extensions were brought in stacked one on top of the other, without anything cushioning in-between them. Both of those and the kitchen table are full of scratches and indentations, and several of the inlaid tiles are cracked, and/or scratched/pitted. Some of the chairs are scratched or have chunks of wood missing.
    A ramp was not used to remove the furniture from the truck, and when the hutch was bring removed, footing was lost by one guy and the hutch fell onto my concrete driveway. This resulted in the back being torn completely off and it sustained a large hole in it. The four shelves inside were all ripped away, and the outside finish has chunks broken off in various places.
    They thought they were done, and I asked where the second coffee end table was and they said there was no more furniture. I insisted that there was another one. We went to the truck and they brought it out, smashed to pieces and, according to the owner, irreparable.
    The owner was called and he said he'd come take a look at the damage, but he never did.
    After several unanswered phone calls and texts, the owner agreed to come over on the 18th of October. He never showed, and wouldn't answer calls or messages. He finally messaged me at the end of October stating, 'no problem, I'm heavy insured', and that he'd call me in 2 days, which he never.
    On Sunday, December 4th, he finally came to my house, did a meager inspection, and said he was sure that the insurance company would fix it. On the 6th of December I sent him my receipt for the furniture as per his request.
    On January 6th, I spoke with him and he said he had talked with a broker who needed to talk with another broker because the furniture was used. I was tired of the run around and told the owner I was going to complain to the Better Business Bureau at this point. He literally mimicked my words back to me, adding that HE was going to call them and say that not every customer is satisfied.
    This company states on their website:
    - that they understand moving is one of the most stressful things you can do
    - that their company is relied upon for their quality moving services
    - that their movers will do so safely and reliably
    - that they believe a positive moving experience is only as good as the help you receive

    The owner of the business has taken zero initiative to resolve this issue. Several times I was told he was working on it, yet, 4 months later, no adjuster from any insurance company has contacted me to come and do an appraisal.
