Hello, I am contacting the Better Business Bureau as Alaskan Residential Rescue has not contacted me back about the bill I received from the electrician they had over at my property at *****************. The electrician did not do the requested work of tying two breaker switches together on both sides of the building or do the work of wiring a light in the closet on side 2. Instead, he installed two lights (one of which we did not ask for in the bathroom on side 2), and a light outside unit 1 which we did ask for. He also put two light boxes up that run on batteries in the closet which we did not ask for and were not consulted about prior to them being glued on the wall. One of the light switches for the lights in the closet is up over 7 ft high and cannot be turned on without a ladder for my small stature of 5 ft 1 inch. Alaskan Residential Rescue had more work lined up to do for us and did not call or show up to this work after the electrician came over. Nor did the electrician or anyone come back over to fix some of the problems that their handyman created. Some of the problems include GFCI outlets that did not work and created arcs at the breaker box when tripped, which tripped as soon as it was turned on and leaving plumbing under the sink on side 2 disconnected after saying it was completed. We had gotten supplies for the work they said they were going to do and were left with many jobs unfinished without an explanation. We attempted to contact him multiple times over this bill of $440, which was the electricians rate of $440 for 4 hours, but received no adjustment in bill or expatiation of the bill. Now he is charging us a 3% late fee for every day past the 7 days that it was unpaid. I have now paid the $220 that I agreed to pay over the emails. We need the BBB to step in and help us resolve this issue as Alaskan Residential Rescue is not responding to my emails, calls, or texts.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/25/2023

      Good afternoon,

As everyone is always entitled to their opinion and while I do understand the frustration behind the complaint. We had to make a decision as a company to remove/terminate further services with this client. There were mitigating circumstances that lead us to this decision. Our office reduced the final invoice price to appease the customers request and our office has spoken with ****** personally to resolve any further issues. We were under the impression the matter was resolved. I am a bit confused by this extreme measure of complaint. However, it is our policy that if a client becomes rude, unreasonable or aggressive we terminate all communication to protect our staff and their work environment.

Unfortunately, it seems as the situation was not clearly resolved and this mitigation is necessary. We are not charging any "late fee's' or have any open invoices for this client.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I requested a closed and final invoice from the business but they have not responded back or sent a completed invoice. With their written response of the invoice being finalized I feel that this case is resolved.
