The date of the initial transaction began on 4/20/2021 with an amount of $9,425.00 for the description of a general retaining wall. While the wall was being installed for my new home, there was also a charge of $2,072.95 for New Soil/Hydroseed spray on 8/3/2021. The business committed to providing a retaining wall that provided the service of retaining mud, water and silt from pushing toward my house. Each year I have had to communicate with them to come back out because silt pushes through the wall and continues to not do what it needs to. The nature of the dispute is that the contractor has failed to communicate with me anymore because this has been an ongoing issue with the current date being 5/21/2025. Every year they have had to come out and fix the issue, but this year has been almost no contact or response from the company. The business has resolved the problem in the past, but continues to ask for more money for the fix or destroys the New Soil from before and puts a lesser quality seed that was new previously installed. In previous years, the company has attempted to resolve the issues but has continued to fail. This year (2025) has put in no efforts to come up with a resolution. The issues in advertising were faulty for my situation. I have seen photos of other work they have completed, however, my retaining wall and landscaping looks completely opposite of those pictures. I am looking to get this wall done the appropriate way in a final stance or get my money back so I can go through another company. The photos uploaded can show different timestamps to show this has been ongoing. There are also photos of the estimates for the wall and the soil/seed.Customer Answer

The last date of marketplace interaction was between the timeframe of April-Aug 2024. I sent pictures to the lead contractor (****** ********)in August of last year with photos of mud/silt pouring through the wall. The wall still at this point was not properly put together. They installed another French drain thinking this would be the fix to the problem. I took more pictures on April 1, 2025 showing that mud/silt was still pouring through the wall. There were back and forth texts about the contract team working on a sketch to fix the wall again, this time going with a 2 tierd wall and respecting the code and regulations. This text came from April 8, 2025. Apparently, when they built this wall the first time it does not meet code. I responded April 9, ********************* know what you come up with. I texted photos again on May ****** relaying the wall needs to get fixed and it is getting worse. He responded through text with him being back in ********* in 3 days and will speak to someone about adding another French drain and they are yet again working on getting me a diagram or sketch. This entire time I have not seen a diagram/sketch.That audio transcript/text message was from May ******. This would be the last I heard from him. I responded on May 13, 2025 with a text asking when did he say he would be back in *********. No response from him. I sent another text on May 16, 2025 asking if there were any updates from those drafts and seeing those would be greatly appreciated. On May 20, 2025 I sent my last text message saying that since I have not gotten any form of communication back, I am reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and will be taking legal action since there has been no cooperation. I have not yet taken legal action.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:There is a warranty with regard to the initial document signing before any work could be completed in any way. The following is in documentation from those authorized files.
By signing this document, the customer agrees to the services and conditions outlined in this document.
This is a quotation on the goods named, subject to the conditions noted below: Proposal includes a complete 2 year warranty for complete materials and workmanship. 50% needs to be collected for down payment before job starts, the resting balance when job is complete and inspected by homeowner.
A&A Landscaping is a license and bond company that offers a complete landscaping & maintenance services, after working with us you will realized that our attentive customer services and our quality workmanship makes A&A an excellent company for developing a business relationship with you.
A few things to note here are that there is a 2 year warranty for complete materials and workmanship. This had to be readjusted every year since initial start because the workmanship was poor and the wall was not retaining. The resting balance when the job is complete and inspected by homeowner, the job has not been complete since the entirety of the initial start because the wall is still having leak issues and not performing as a retaining wall. Also, after inspecting the wall after completion during the warranty timeframe, the homeowner does not at all approve of the inspection due to the workmanship.A&A landscaping offers a complete landscaping & maintenance services. This is not a complete service because every year this company has had to come out and fix the issue. Our quality workmanship. This is not quality workmanship. This is passing blame on the environment.
After inspection, way more less sand sludge compared to the last summer inspections.
How is this an appropriate response in any way? So admitting that the wall is still not doing what it needs to do, but its not as bad as before? Thats not full completion of maintenance services in any way, shape,or form.
A&A study the issues and came to a conclusion were sand slugging was coming from back yard green belt and affected yard was experiencing erosion edging issues due to the property lot and green belt being very close to the house.
This comment made has no relevance to the quality, workmanship,or services that occurred with regard to the retaining wall. The issue with the wall is workmanship. No matter what outside source occurred, this should not be affected from the wall. It is understood that there are erosion issues. The retaining wall is supposed to stop anything from coming through. The wall is supposed to retain.
The details mentioned on they resolved to fix the issue and responding with it not being as bad as the previous year is a completely negligent remark and not only shows unprofessionalism, but shows a lack of being able to appropriately complete a service they agreed to complete.
Sincerely,
******* ******Initial Complaint

Hired A&A back in Dec 2023 to do snow removal on my yard for construction. Prompt and good snow removal service, bit pricey, but offered a warranty for any damage to lawn - thought it was going to be a good company/fair deal with the warranty. Come summer 2024 and Junior told me my lawn damage is covered under warranty and they would repair it (June 4th). After multiple phone calls and text messages and being told it would be repaired on June 29/30 - no one has showed up, no one will answer the phone calls/respond to multiple VM's, and no one will respond to multiple text messages (as of Jul 16th). Warranty is essentially worthless. I'm tired of lying contractors that seem to multiply like flies in ******, so I'll be pursuing my options, as a consumer, on a contractor that breaches their own contract. I wouldn't recommend or hire them again as a result of my experience.
