My husband and I sold a car in December. Now in January, we get a piece of mail stating that the car was impounded and we are now on the hook for over $500 in fees. I call them to disclose that we had sold the vehicle and that I could provide the information for the new owner, the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and said that isn't how it works and that they are required to go after us because the person who bought the vehicle had never gone to the **** I went to the *** website and reported the sale. Once I had taken these steps, I called back and let them know that the updated information should be in the *** system now. The same rude, ignorant woman picked up the phone, CLAIMED TO BE THE ****** she was NOT!! She said that I was wrong and that it didn't matter if I updated the information I was still on the hook, unless I provided a duplicate title to the towing company. I said no, I updated the information and spoke to someone at the *** who stated they were wrong and that the sale date, even if backdated would be in the system. I had my husband call because at this point I was extremely over this woman's attitude. When he called she was immediately RUDE! She talked over him repeatedly. He finally said let me talk, I gave you your time to speak. She would not listen to a word he had to say, said he was just wrong and would not listen to reason. She said fine don't pay, they will come after your PFD. He said that's fine since I am moving out of state. She said well that's fine, we will go after your tax return. He replied, jokes on you I owe money because I actually make money and hung the phone up. We decided it would just be easier to get a duplicate title and provide it to not deal with the headache. When my husband went into the location, he actually met **** who seemed to be a genuinely nice man. Overall, it is one woman that is causing issues. She is a downright disrespectful bully of a human being.
