I am writing to file a complaint regarding a recent service experience with Wintergreen. Wintergreen, LLC *************************************** Invoice date and number 6/30/***********. I called Wintergreen to request a quote for cutting my backyard, which needed to be done as soon as possible. They quoted me $70 for the backyard. I then inquired about having both the front and back lawns cut. They quoted me $120 for both. The gentleman I spoke with assured me that he would send an invoice with the pricing details.Three weeks later, Wintergreen showed up and cut my backyard, charging me $140. During this three-week period, I had asked a neighbor if they could cut my back lawn, as I had not heard back from Wintergreen. When I returned home one day, I found that the backyard had been cut, and I assumed my neighbor had done it. However, when I went to thank my neighbor and offer payment, they informed me that they had not cut the backyard.Subsequently, I received an invoice from Wintergreen for $140. I called Wintergreen to inquire about the charge and the services performed, as I knew they had not done the front lawn. The representative informed me that they had only done the backyard but charged $140 because, according to them, once a contract is established, the price for full service applies, similar to a garbage collection contract.I am not sure of the correct address from your selection drop-down button, but the address in my complaint is the correct address given to me. This situation is highly unsatisfactory and misleading, as the pricing and communication were not clear or transparent. I request that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and help resolve this issue.Sincerely,*****************************

    to me, me

I received a quote from your ************ for $120 from my front and backyard. My backyard needed cutting right away you stated you would charge me $70 to do the backyard. My front yard was cut already you charged me $140 for my backyard to be cut since there was no written statement. You stated that you were like the trash service if the lawn does not need to be cut, I will still be charged. Im requesting in writing that you only cut my yard once a month from now onfor now the quoted $140 amount.

    to ********

    ********
On 06/17/24 I called you and said we have an estimate for you for mowing the lawn and I asked for your email so I could send it to you, and you said can't I just tell you what it is, so I did verbally tell you as requested.
(I did try to provide something in writing, but you would not give me your email address at that time)
I did in fact tell you that the weekly price was $80 per mow and that the biweekly price was $140 per mow.
Now that you wish to only have the lawn done once a month, the fee for the 1 mow per month will be higher than $140 because there will be an additional 2 weeks of growth.
In the future if there is an issue with the mowing, please contact us via email so we can rectify the situation and not wait 28 days for you to inform us.
I will email you a revised estimate and you can email us back in writing if you plan on accepting the new estimate.

I have noticed that she is disputing the entire first mow of $140.00.   Since she has already confirmed that we mowed the lawn we feel that is just another fabrication and excuse to not pay for services rendered.

After her story had changed, I decided to check the Public Court Records and found that we are not the first people that will need to take her to court to get payment in full.
On 06/17/2019 she had a judgement entered against her for $10,324.23 from ****** Investments. She has been having her PFD garnished each year since 2019.  This must be why she cannot remember what she was told and perhaps could not afford it in the first place.  The first invoice is already past due, and the second invoice is due at the end of this month.  Her inconsistent statements and failure to pay will cause her additional court and legal fees along with property lien fees.   With her failure to pay and poor attitude most companies in the *********** area will be on high alert and not want to work with someone like that.

I received a second invoice from Wintergreen today, claiming that they provided lawn service for me. After the first invoice I received from Wintergreen regarding lawn service that they did not render, they only cut my backyard and charged me $140. Now, I have received another invoice stating that I owe them an additional $140 for another day that they cut my lawn. Wintergreen only cut my backyard once, and then I contacted them in writing not to render any further service to me because they did not provide the initial service as required. I received an email stating that they would take legal action to get their $140 and take a lien against my home. I am a disabled veteran and I concerned by the threatening emails and actions of Wintergreen Lawn, as their behavior is unprofessional and highly threatening. This situation is causing me significant stress and anxiety. Something must be done regarding this type of harassment and deceit. ---

    Business Response

    Date: 08/22/2024

We have deleted the 2nd invoice.  This was made quite clear in the email.  We have blocked all incoming emails from this person because she is not someone we would ever do work for again.

Also, if she does not stop harassing our company with these ***** BBB complaints, we will have our attorney provide her with a cease & desist letter.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have not communicated with Wintergreen since filing my complaints with the Better Business Bureau regarding their overpricing and requesting payment for services not rendered. I have received two separate invoices/numbers for payments. My concern is that, in their response, they indicated that I had a legal matter involving a company against me. However, when I contacted the indicated company, they stated that they thought it was some type of fraud/scam. The nice lady at the company went online with me to check open court cases and confirmed that they did not have a complaint against me in any form. Despite this, Wintergreen indicated in their response to the Better Business Bureau that there was a $12,000 judgment against me and that my PFD was being garnished. It is very concerning that they would publish such false information as fact. This interaction with Wintergreen has been so stressful and has caused increased chest pain, migraines, and post-traumatic stress nightmares. I wish no further contact from Wintergreen via phone calls or email messages. I have communicated with this company once via phone then only via documented email correspondences. I am still not sure what their last email message meant, which I then forwarded there email to the Better Business Bureau with additional concerns regarding Wintergreen's reactions and communication. They have continued to send very concerning messages but still indicating they no longer are sending me email messages. Overall, this experience has been an added burden on my time and energy.
Very concerned about there communication and lack of professional decorum.  I wish no further interaction with Wintergreen.

    Very Concerned *****************************
