We entered into a contract with Midnight Sun Solar to install a 6.6 kW solar array at ********************* ********. A 50 % down payment of $17,167.50 was made on December 26, ******* that time, it was agreed that installation would take place in the spring of 2025, possibly as early as March.A site visit was completed on March 31 by **** ****** (business owner). Installation was proposed for the second half of May. We gathered from the conversation that most parts had been ordered and received, and that the net-metering application to our local utility (*******************************) had been submitted. After May 14 2025 I reached out multiple times via phone, text, and email to ****, and others at the business, with the request to contact us for scheduling the installation. I did not receive a response.A visit to their business location on ********************** on June 4 proved futile, since the office was closed, despite published hours of 9am to 5pm for that day. I mailed a registered letter to their business address on June 5th, urging them to contact us, or we would consider the contract dissolved due to abandonment, and I would ask about having my down payment returned in full. According to **** tracking information, the letter has not been delivered yet due to no one available at said address. **** ****** informed me via text message on June 6th, 2025, that he had been busy with a family health issue. He said he would contact me on Monday, June 9th, 2025, to schedule installation, but did not do so. I reached out to him via phone, text, and email, but received no response.Additionally, our local utility has informed us that a net-metering application for our location has NOT been submitted.I have made ample effort to resolve this amicably and professionally, to no avail. It is unacceptable to cut off contact with a customer with whom the business has entered a contract for service, having received partial payment for those services.
