I took in my dog 1.5 yrs ago for urgent medical attention. I show up for appt eager to get him treated. Vet never touched my dog. All he cared about was jabbing him with another rabies vax. I said we're not here for that today. He said then I can't help you. So, you refuse to treat my dog because I won't let you "vax" him? He said yes. I said OK, we're leaving. I took him to our new vet. Fast forward to today, 8/15/23. I had to put my (same) baby down. Our new vet called Twin Cities to get a cost on cremation and said we had an old balance that must be paid 1st. So, I called and asked what the outstanding $ was for. She said it was for the visit from 1.5 yrs ago. I said I'm appealing the charge because the vet refused to treat my baby. She said she'd reduce it to a $30-no-show fee. I asked it be waived. She refused. Said if I didn't pay, I could never go there again. I said I would NEVER use you for treatment of any pet ever again, but I have 3 more little heartbreakers at home who'll one day need cremation. So, I reluctantly pay the $30 and the cremation. I demanded a letter about why I'm still being charged. When I showed up, she said she'd give me the letter when I picked up his ashes. I said you'll get your $30 then. She said then you can't leave him. I said then I want my letter now. She said, so you want me to drop what I'm doing to write you a letter? I said YES. So, she did. And I made them write PAID IN FULL on receipt. I didnt want them to have any reason not to give me my babies ashes. I can't believe the lack of compassion! She wanted to stand there and drill into me their policies and wanted me to be ok with it. I said I don't want to talk about it anymore. I just want to go home and grieve for my baby. She kept on. I said what do you want from me?! She said I just don't want you to be upset. Seriously?!!! I just lost my baby and you're beating me over the head with policy? Heartless!! I'll probably be banned from cremation services now too.
