They negotiated the entire car deal with a service contract hidden in the negotiation. I told them from the beginning that I did not want a service contract. I also told them I wanted to see the buy rate the lender offered and wanted to know the name of the lender. I was never given that information until I was signing my final documents. At that point I was told that if I wanted the lower rate I would have to get the service contract, so I was bribed by the interest rate to buy a service contract. They also powerbook or present the vehicle as having more options to the lender, so that the lender will loan more money on it. Unfortunately these tactics are usually done on people with a lower credit situation, which I am currently in. Also, they include add-ons like coatings to the vehicle and tell you that they do that to every vehicle and you have to buy it with the deal. A lot of people are getting scammed by this stuff. We rely on the dealer to do the very best they can for us, and they take advantage of their customers in these ways. I went back they day after the sale to try and remedy the issue, but I was once again told by the **, ****** *********, that if I canceled the warranty my rate would go back up and it wouldn't save me any money. This dealership has gone through many owners and management staffs over the past few years, but their tactics never change. We have to do something about dealers like this using these tactics that are usually hurting the people in a more sensitive situation.

The complainant visited the Greenway CDJR of Anniston (Greenway) on three separate days during the sales process and Greenway was initially able to obtain a finance approval for him at an approximate interest rate of 20%. After continued efforts by our team, a significantly lower rate was secured through a different lender by the time the complainant decided to proceed with the purchase. He also signed a Final Acceptance Agreement as part of this transaction clearly showing he agreed to purchase Extended Warranty and Gap Insurance.
I told the complainant we could flat cancel the warranty after he got a title for his trade that he never registered in his name.
Greenway ended up getting the purchased vehicle back, gave the complainant his trade back and unwound the whole deal.

Friday, Feb 3, 2023 went by with my granddaughter to inquire about another vehicle. Found one and she signed a paper giving them permission to check her credit score to see if she qualified for financing. We ran out of time and they suggested She drive the car for the weekend. In the meantime, they ran her credit with 14 times and it may be more times that to finance the car which she could not even afford on a CNA salary. They put her as being a nurse knowing she was not. We contacted the manager *****************, and after several attempts finally went back over there. He had no intention of straightening her credit report back right after it dropped 65 points. He said he would check with his legal department and if it did not hurt his business that he would write a letter to get it taken off but as of today he won't even answer the phone. We stressed the importance of her working hard to get her credit to where it was, but that meant nothing to him. He said we should have told them only to run it once. We could have understood if it had only been one time, but not 14. He said he runs credit as many times as he deems necessary. She did not consent to the first one. I called one of the finance companies and one of the credit bureaus only to be told they could not do anything until he wrote them a letter. The bureau even suggested filing a police report for falsely running the credit reports. I mentioned this to the manager, *****************, but was told I could be arrested for filing a false report against his company. This is no way a false report against the company but could help with other individuals that have worked so hard to maintain good credit . I don't want any problems with doing this and just need help on getting her report straightened out.

We have a signed credit application authorizing us to submit her information to the banks to secure financing.  After we submitted it to the bank the customer called and stated that she could put $10,000 cash down so we had to resubmit to secure financing which we did but the payment was out of the customer's budget.  I have shown the credit application and explained all of this to the customer and her mother.
